What Is Left After?

"Ah, well. I believe I have a few items here that will cheer you up." I lift flip my top hat off, and pull out some Kendall mint cake, batteries, and string. "And that's not all. I found some extra knives. Want one?"
I notice Aimery.
"Are you okay there?"

Roxanne: I crossed my ankles, "I had a wonderful time, I even got a bullet hole in my jacket." I said, faking excitement.

Jelsa: "Okay, goodnight!"

Wayne: "Ooh, knives."

"Want one?" I ask. "We at 'The Pockets of Peter's Coat' offer a wide selection of the very best in cutting implements. I've got... A sharp thing, one of these, some kitchen knives, and... I dunno but it cuts through string pretty well."
I grin and, sitting myself down, remove blades of different shapes and sizes from my coat, laying them out on the ground.
"A broad meat-knife for you sir? Or how about you, Jelsa? Can I interest you in this delightful bowie knife? Completely free as I've already got enough knives."

Jelsa: I shook my head. "I already have a handgun in my pack. I don't know how to use it, but...yeah."

Wayne: "I'd be cool with knives. Want some CDs?"

"Depends. Have you got any Lady Gaga?" I laugh at my own poor joke. "Actually, yeah. I reckon I might have an idea for what to do with those."

Wayne: "Really? What? And actually, I do have her."

Roxanne: I sighed, already feeling like an idiot about earlier. I blankly watched what everyone else was doing. I rolled my shoulders slightly, ignoring the pain since the stiffness was worse.

Jelsa: I glanced over at Roxanne. "Are you okay?"

Roxanne: I smiled slightly, "Yeah, I am, except," I pointed to my shoulder, ",this, I'm fine."

"I reckon if you held one in each hand, you could use them as semaphore flags. Or use just one for morse code. Or you could thread them on a string to make bird scarers if we start trying some agriculture..." I pause and stare into the middle distance as an idea comes to me. "Is there a garden centre anywhere near here?"

Jelsa: I nodded. "Hope that gets better."

Wayne: "Do you want to go looking for one?"

Roxanne: "Thanks..." I said to Jelsa before I looked around for a second, "Well, now what do we do?"

Jelsa: "I thought we were just going through our stuff."

"Not tonight," I reply. "And actually, I was joking about the Lady Gaga. I can't stand her music, and she isn't even hot. Which is something some other people have got going for them."
i let the sentence hang in the air, regretting it the moment I've said it.

Wayne: I laughed. "What do you mean, dude?"

Jelsa: "Thank you. I don't like her either."

Roxanne: I was about to say something to her, but I over-heard Peter's last sentence, and wondered what he meant by it.

I realise that at every moment, I exponentially increase the level of awkwardness in the room, but I carry on regardless. "I mean, Lady Gaga looks like a shaven chimpanzee on bad acid, whereas someone like those two," here I gesture at Jelsa and Roxanne and swallow my embarrassment, "is actually quite pretty," I finish lamely.

Jelsa: I raised an eyebrow, surprised. "You think I'm pretty?"

Wayne: "Hm. Well, she's not hideous."

Jelsa: I rolled my eyes. "Thanks, Wayne."

"Well no, I mean yes, I mean..." I perform an exemplary facepalm. "Yes. I do," I say, my eyes still hidden by my hand. "There, I said it. Happy now, brain?"
