What Is Left After?

Joseph: "Well, you never asked me."

Roxanne: I shrugged with a faint smile, as if to say jokingly, 'Yeah, it's my fault.'.

Joseph: "You don't get to be at fault for a lot of things."

Roxanne: I arched an eyebrow, "What do you mean?"

Joseph: "You said it's your fault. It's not really. I just didn't want to tell you."

Roxanne: I shook my head slightly, "I was just kidding when I said that..."

Joseph: I nod. "I know. But I just want you to know that not a lot of things will ever be your fault."

Roxanne: I half-smiled only to show I understood what he was getting across. "That's nice to hear." I commented softly, since I was usually the one who screwed things up, intentionally or not.

Wayne: I laughed. "Whoa there. Let's get in the river first, and then I'll let you talk dirty."

Jelsa: I vaguely nodded, trying not to think about everything that happened. "I guess I'm stronger than I look," I murmured. "You look pretty strong yourself."

"Physically, yeah," I reply. It's true, and I know she can feel it at this distance. "Emotionally I'm a bit unsound. That's what comes with the end of the world." I tuck a strand of her hair behind her ear.

Aimery: I blush, looking down at my feet. "I don't need your permission to talk dirty," I say.

Joseph: "So you believe me?" I ask hopefully.

Jelsa: I nodded, understanding. Everything was different now that it was really the end. "Just...don't leave me, please," I whispered, tangling my hand in his hair.

Wayne: I smirked. "Fine. Then talk dirty all you want."

"I would stand against the combined powers of the two towers of isengard and Mordor for you," I say into her ear. "I would face the armies of the Trade Federation to keep you safe."
I realise that she probably doesn't see the world the same way as I do, so I try a different tack. "I know there could be gangsters and zombies and cannibals outside, but I promise that while I'm alive, you will be too."

Jelsa: "Is that a reference to something I should know?" I whispered, pulling back a little to look into his eyes.

Roxanne: I joked, "Well, when you ask that, then I start doubting whether I do or not." I grinned faintly before I answered honestly, "But yeah, I believe you."

Aimery: "Well, I can't do it on que. It's like a "That's what she said" joke. Someone can't just say, "That's a big box." and you go, "That's what she said." It doesn't make any sense."

Joseph: I chuckle. "You should believe me," I say, then think about it. "Most of the time."

Wayne: I shrugged. "Fine. Then we'll have to wait for the opportunity for you to talk dirty to me."

"Er..." I blush. "Sort of. The Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. Guess what I was before the apocalypse?"
I chuckle.

Jelsa: I frowned. "Star Wars I know a little bit about, but not Lord of the Rings. Um...no, I don't have any guesses. What were you?"

Aimery: I raise an eyebrow. "So you want me to talk dirty, huh?"

Wayne: "I thought I already asked you to."

Aimery: I grin. "I know. I just wanted you to say it one more time so you know what you're getting into."

Wayne: I smirked. "Go for it."
