"They deserved to die because they were near it?" asks Ventrix, gesturing to the charred and twisted corpses left by Kiera's fire. "Truly you are a twisted individual. It is only right that the pair of you should die, if only to shield an undeserving world from your selfish evil."

"Tell that to the multitude Liz has helped," said Ezra gruffly, "Or the ones locked up because of my Dad."

David:
I snort at Ventrix's response and say, "I wouldn't expect an arrogant being as yourself to understand". I turn and follow Leslie calling over my shoulder as i do, "I will no longer waste my time with you, insignificant airmen" Then I turn to Leslie and say, "Well elves are immortal where I come from... I don't know if that applies to me but they still all believe in Nardor"

(Nardor= Elf god, also in the human pantheon of gods he is the god of magic, a very powerful god in Palamon)

Ezra sighed, "Let's just get this over with."

"Well, I mean, there are ghosts," I said. "People with significant unfinished business. But most people move on and are reincarnated. And I dunno what god you elves worship, but the point is that there is no Christian, Jewish, what-have-you god. Or gods. All made-up."

"I don't know..." said Liz, shaking her head.

David:
"Nardor, they worship Nardor" I say. "I do not"

"So what are you going to do with me now?" asked Andrew.

Leslie
"What do you mean you don't know?" I asked Liz curiously. "There's proof!"

Aria
"Sell you," I answered with a bored tone. "But it's too late now, so I'll have to do it tomorrow."

"And till then?" asked Andrew, annoyed, the rope was itchy.

"It's just....where do they go then once I've helped them?"

Aria
"Wait," I answered him, giving him a "Duh" look.

Leslie
"Like I said!" I answered, growing just a tad annoyed for having to repeat myself. "They're reincarnated. New life."

"It's just...hard to believe..."

"Belive it!" I told her. "Gosh, I sound like Naruto..."

Aria
"Now why on Earth--or in Heaven--would I do that?" I asked him.

"Cause I'm tired...and it's itchy," Andrew yawned.

Aria
"Boo-hoo," I said with disdain.

Ventrix grabs David by the collar and throws him to the ground. "I am arrogant? Because I refuse to agree that children should be orphaned and women widowed because of the whims of a malhuman whelp and his pet? So this is how evil starts; when one begins treating people as things. Better I nip it in the bud here, eh?"

"Please, as my last request?" asked Andrew, looking up with his sorrow-filled blue eyes.

Aria
"I'm thinking of a word," I started slowly, tapping my chin with an index finger. I fixed him with my own blue eyes. "Oh yeah. It's 'no.' I'm almost six centuries old. Puppy-dog eyes aren't going to work on me."

Leslie
"Gotta say," I commented, "I agree with Proud Warrior Airship Guy. You killed people because they scratched your flamey lizard. That's no reason, kid."

"Look," said Andrew frowning, Do you think I'm stupid enough to try and run away? Where will I go?"

Aria
"Well, I think you're pretty stupid," I answered him honestly. "But I'm just being cautious, is all."

"You tried to burn my airship. If I responded as you do, you would already be dead. Be thankful that I at least am in possession of morals."
Ventrix turns to Leslie and affects a wide, sweeping bow, with a little sabre-flourish at the end. "You are a woman of some perception, milady."

Leslie
"Thanks," I said with a smile. "I mean, hey, I'm 525 years old; I should hope that I'm even a little perceptive!"

"Really!?" says Ventrix. "You don't look a day over four hundred and three."
