Kim:
I laugh. "Really? Well, hang with a New Yorker you have to learn /the/ Brooklyn accent. Long vowels are key, next is run on words like 'youguyses' and 'whuzzthmattawitchu?!'."

Cricket laughed. "Ah, if you ever get t' the point where you're being cussed out by a lowlander, you'll run into plenty of those words..." he started walking, and was overcome with a slight feeling of being watched. Which wasn't too unusual in this place.

They were getting closer. Crooks contemplated what to do next. Reveal himself, or be swift about it and make it so they never knew what hit them?

Cricket shook the odd feeling away and continued. But then a sound made him come to a dead stop. A slow tick. Tick. Tick... like the sound of Captain Hook's crocodile, sounding from an invisible force a few inches away. His heart sped, but his voice was oddly calm. "Kim...something's not right," he murmered.

Kim
I continue walking and look back confused. "What do you mean?" I ask, pausing at the corner to wait for him but instead run into some guy i've never seen before.

Yeah but...well, let's say I had to deal with a tornado today, too...or at least my room tends to resemble it after I get excited looking through old stuff I have stashed in here...

" 'ello love, pleasure t' meet you," Crooks said, then vanished completely under the shadows before she had time to react. He seemed to almost glide, with how quietly he moved. He silently twirled a knife in his fingers, smiling in the dark as he stepped around to hide his position, like a pebble being shuffled under cups. He decided against going after her right away. Skip to the good part.

The ticking subsided and Cricket glanced around and faded into a shadow himself. Everything was death quiet, for a moment. Tick! Tick! Like an alarm, behind him to the left. "There!" He called to Kim, ducking out of the way of an attack.

Kim
"Stay down," I say, turning around. With a snap of my fingers, fire lashes out like a whip at the stranger.

"No, I was thinking about standing up in time t' get scorched!" Cricket said, and anticipated Crooks' dodge. He went for the knees, tackling him to the ground. Something slashed across his chest. Cricket winced against the feel of a knife, a feeling he'd hoped to forget for a while. His attacker kicked him off and found safety in the dark again, and the ticking began to fade as if saying, you're on your own. "Shiiiiit-uh," he muttered before leaping to his feet and out of the way. It dawned on him that he didn't even know who he was fighting. He'd seen that whoever it was, was blonde. Gee. That really narrowed it down.

Kim
"Cricket, chill!". I grab his wrists and roll over a top him, pinning him till he realized it was me. I stand after a moment, looking around at the shadows. There were too many in this place, for gods sakes.


In the shadows; the Assassin's friend. Silent within the darkness, only a dim glimmer of her eyes to give her away. And the glimer of her knife. Wisp comes up behind the intruder, not even making the soft sound of fabric shifting in movementtakes the guys hand with the knife and pins it behind his back, seamlessly slipping her knife around his neck, a smooth and well practiced movement. "Dont move, or your losing your head in five eigths of a second," she hisses, even her voice as soft as the still wind.

Quincy? Brawn insulted her (oh noes!) and them tripped her on the stairs so they're in a fight.

Ahhh. I have to get these people straight xD haha. Gosh I was tired last night...just reread your last post. Hmm...by 'he didn't know who he was attacking' I meant he didn't know if it was crooks or someone else from luna, not crooks and kim...but ah well. I shall reply. XD

Confused...but okay. XD.

I mean he wasn't meant to have Kim and Crooks confused, he knew where Crooks was in the room. He just didn't know yet that Crooks was Crooks, all he knew was he was attacking an intruder.

Wisp barely had enough time to finish her sentence before Crooks had jammed an elbow into her gut, giving just enough room to slip out of her grasp and hook the back of her knee to pull her off balance. "Like I 'aven't 'eard that one b'fore," he said.

Cricket blinked up at Kim. "That was weird. Could've sworn I was tackling a guy a moment ago..." he stood, following the guy's voice. He whistled, Who? though he had an idea.

Ooooh I get it. I thought he got disoriented and ended up going after Kim...

Wisp
I bend back so I don't fall, vaulting back onto my feet. The pain is but a paper cut compared to the past. Instinctively I know fighting. Too many fighting styles to name. Pain tolerance heightened, this boy has no chance. "who are you? I'd like to know what to put on your coffin." Not that I knew how to write, or read.

Cricket: " 'ey, I'm not that distracted..."
Sure, sure, Cricket. Whatever you say...*musses hair*

Crooks laughed. "Crooks. No dates, no pictures, just 'Crooks'. Make sure t' follow that exactly. And just in case, what's your moniker?" His voice was friendly, like he was bantering with a soulmate.

Wisp
My jaw tightens and my mouth stays shut, unsure of how to answer. Wisp? Was that a name? "I'll tell you when you pin me," I hiss, twirling my knife in my hand and disappearing, coming up in front of him while winding back and throwing a punch at him.

Crooks cocked his head when she dissapeared and got hit right in the cheekbone. "Aw, it's a dissapearing act! Play fair," he grinned. He didn't show much of a wince, though she threw a hard punch. He dodged another hit and twirled his own knife before aiming to slash it across her face, followed by a roundhouse kick.

Wisp
I disappear before he can hit me, appearing down the hall by Cricket and Kim. "Learn an Assassin is never fair," I hiss, eyes narrowed, raising a gun at him. Never again. He won't hurt Cricket again.

Crooks chuckled and shook his head. "Y'know I was joking, right? Of course I know it! That's th' point, th' punch line, th' roundabout fact of life. When I die I'd prefer t' do it under unfair circumstances, as a matter of fact. Go on! Shoot! See 'ow much Crick 'ere likes it. You a friend of 'is?" By his voice, he could have been talking over coffee.

Cricket's brow furrowed in recognition. " 'aven't see you in a while..." this was not good. Not at all. He watched Wisp out of the corner of his eye. "Wisp--"

"What do you think, Crick, want t' let me die? With a gun? Ah, old memories..."

Wisp
My eyes lose a bit of their fire, my brows furrowing slightly in unsureness. Still, my trigger finger tightens slightly. "...Cricket...?" I look over for a moment, showing him a bit of my uncomfortableness, a giant no no for an assassin. Never take your eyes off the target, how many times do you need that beaten in you? I look back at Crooks hurridly.
