Dakota: "We've been talking about "what you did" for at least the last half hour!"

Brok: "Spell it out for me!"

Dakota: "I'm upset because you still like Fiona." How many times had I already said that? I flopped onto my bed, exhausted. Maybe that would get him to leave -- he was probably afraid of beds.

Brok: "I DON'T LIKE FIONA!" I groaned. "I swear it! I don't even think about her anymore!"

Dakota: "Yes you do! Go away."

Brok: "I don't like her! Otherwise I wouldn't be here with you!"

Dakota: "Tell someone who cares."

Brok: "I would think that would be you!"

Dakota: "Not anymore."

Brok: "Not anymore? That means you used to care."

Dakota: "Yeah."

Brok: "Why don't you anymore?"

Dakota: "Because."

Brok: "WHY?!"

Dakota: "BECAUSE." I threw a pillow at him. "Because I said so."

Brok: I sighed. "And why do you say so?"

Dakota: "Because I do."

Brok: "Give me a better reason than that."

Dakota: I paused. "Because I CAN."

Brok: "You can what?"

Dakota: I sighed. "I'm not even sure what we're talking about anymore."

Brok: "Neither am I. I'm so confused."

Dakota: "Okay, well..." I bit my lip.

Brok: "What?"

Dakota: "I don't know." I shrugged. "I'm not sure what to do now."
