"Oh..." Izzy said, still groggy. "Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, ohhh...fuck."

"What?!"

More hysterical laughter from Izzy.
"Broken fields...they mess you up on a normal day...! Energy backfire... But now, like this...!"
Senet roused, rubbing his head.
"Qu'est qu'il se passe?" he asked, forgetting to speak English.
"Broke his field!" Izzy replied, having heard the phrase enough to know what it meant. "Peter's! They broke his field!"

"What does it mean?! How is it bad?!"

Senet's face slowly turned from a look of confusion to a look of horror. He got up suddenly and half-walked on his knees, half-crawled over to Peter.
"Petehr?" he asked tentatively, shaking his shoulder. "Petehr?!"

"He's stil alive...he has a pulse." Liz told Senet, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"Erm. Well...If nobody's dead..what should we do next? I mean...we're still stuck in this D-Plane..." T.Mor asked, not used to caring that much about relative states of deadness.

"They'll die if they shift." said Ezra.

"Oh. Right..."T.Mor had forgotten about that whole thing. "Right. Erm...so. What were you all talking about with the forcefields earlier?" T.Mor asked.

"They broke Peter's which apparently is very bad."

"Petehr?!" Senet called again, still shaking his shoulder. Peter showed no signs of cognizance. "Please! Please don't...!" Finally, Peter's glassy, brown eyes seemed to focus slightly on Senet.
"Nnhh?" he breathed, his expression mostly blank.
"Ne quitte pas cette vie..." Senet begged. "Ne quitte pas cette vie! ...Ne me quitte pas!"
Senet gripped one of Peter's hands in both of his, tears pricking at his eyes and his lower lip quivering. Peter's own eyes closed, and his head lolled to the side. Senet gave a pained gasp, his shoulders shaking and the tears rolling down his cheeks now.
"So faint..." he said, barely above a whisper. "Eet's...so faint..."

((Translation notes: Ne quitte pas cette vie ("nuh keet pah set vee") means roughly "Don't leave" (as a euphemism for don't die). Literally, it's "Don't leave this life."

Senet's words in order: "Don't leave... Don't leave! ...Don't leave me!"))

"He did this to save us all. There is a chance he will survive, Senet, you all fainted." Ezra said, biting his lip.

Senet said nothing for a moment, and merely sat with the tears rolling down his cheeks.
"Eet..." he murmured, "eet can't...eet can't end like zees...! Not aftehr...aftehr all we've..."

"Senet," said Liz quietly, "it's gonna be okay. He'll be okay." Tears brimmed up in her eyes, and she gave his shoulder a squeeze.

"Awww...Senet...don't get indegestion..." Riddle said, the most sympathetic she'd ever been.

Ezra looked away, he wasn't going to cry. Tears stung his eyes.

"So faint..." Senet repeated, his voice barely above a whisper. "So...faint..."
He continued to grip Peter's hand, just willing the blood to keep circulating. The lungs to keep breathing.
The heart to keep beating.

Ezra felt a hot, angery tear roll dowb his cheek. "He's not going to die," he threw the book down in front of Senet. "Find something that may remotly work."

"But what would...?" Senet began quietly. "Ze problem ees zat...zat 'ee doesn't 'ave enough enehrgy to...to sustain 'eem... 'Ees soul enehrgy...ees too weak..."

"SOUL CAFFIENE. I TOLD YOU..." Riddle called.
"Riddle...We know already that that is impossible..." T.Mor told her calmly. Although, he too thought that it sounded like a good idea.
"So...now we're all doomed. Is that it? We're all going to die here, on this plane that makes Riddle look like a frikkin' genius? Great." August...whined.

Senet glared at August, though his vision was blurry through the tears.
"Do you evehr shut up?!" he demanded. "You ahre ze seengle most...most eensensiteeve child een all ze wohrlds! Petehr c-could easeely...easeely die een ze next zihrty seconds, and you 'ave ze gall to complain?! Zjust shut youhr yap!"

"I'm...Oh. Well.."August didn't really have a response for that.
"Sorry would be an appropriate word to use.."T.Mor prompted. He felt like he was trying to get Riddle to learn that the magic word wasn't "NOW" all over again. That had been a really terrible day...
"Right...Yeah...Sorry..." August muttered, looking legitamately sorry.

"There's got to be something in here...find something." said Ezra. "And I'll do the rest."

"But I don't..." Senet started. "I don't know zees mazjeec stuff you do! I zjust...zjust..."

"I think we all need to stop giving Senet indegestion. It's rude." Riddle ground out in her...rigor-ed state.
"I second that...Even though it's not indegestion..."T.Mor muttered.
