flaggirl3 wrote:Jason slowly walked through the halls of this familiar high school. He had math class this morning, but since it was just a review from last year's Algebra class and Jason was an exceptional student in math, he felt no need to be there. Yes, he was going to skip class and it definitely wasn't the first or the last time he would do this. As he rounded the corner he saw one of his best friends, Ginger, rummaging through her locker. "Hey, Ginger!" Jason yelled down to her. "You skippin' class?"
"Buenos Dias," Fable glumly repeated back to her Spanish teacher. Fable loved her Spanish classes, but today she just wished she was outside. She wished it was still summer. And she was not necessarily looking forward to this year.
sorry didnt even know you were talking to her!!!
Ginger looked up at Jason and laughed lightly. "Yea, i guess you could say that. Was showing the new student where to go." She was glad that Jason and her were best friends.

Re: Welcome to Highschool.
Mrs. Mullen pursed her lips, and Erika's jaw dropped, but she was sitting behind T. Mor so he probably couldn't see. He couldn't even read 'cat'?
"I see. Let's sound it out. A 'C' makes a 'cuh' sound. 'A' makes an 'ah' sound -- in this instance -- and a 't' makes a 'tuh' sound. So try and put the sounds together now, T. Mor."

'C...CA...Cat?" T.Mor looked hesitant still. "So...that round one. That's a C?" He asked, making sure he was getting this all right. He hadn't seen much in the way of written text ever. It was...odd. He vaguely remembered going over the alphabet once or twice when he was five back in his home country...but shortly thereafter the school system collapsed, and well...no more school.
Re: Welcome to Highschool.
Mrs. Mullen nodded. "The pointy ones an "A" and the...tall...one is a "T"

Re: Welcome to Highschool.
"Ok..." T.Mor thought about that for a second. He knew there were more letters. "There are more of them too right?" He asked her. "I mean...Like...A lot more." He clarified.
Re: Welcome to Highschool.
"Twenty-three more," Mrs. Mullen said with a nod. "But we can take it slowly. Would you like to try another word?"

Re: Welcome to Highschool.
"Uhm...I kinda would like to know what those other...23 letters are before we do anything...If that's...If that's allowed." T.Mor said timidly.
Re: Welcome to Highschool.
(sure, stillettos, if you want to. we have a lot of those, but sure)
Mrs. Mullen beamed. "Sure thing." She pulled out a large poster that had all of the letters and explained them to him.
(I'm way too lazy to type out an explanation of every letter)

(That's fine!)
"Oh...Can...Is there a thing I can have with all these on them? I mean..." T.Mor asked, still staring at the poster. The explanation had been massively helpful, but he didn't think that he would be able to remember all of that automatically. He had a thought. "Erm...If all the classes I have are going to make me read and write...How do I keep up until I've got this all...sorted out?" He wasn't sure if the question was even appropriate to the situation. He just...Didn't want to keep being confused everywhere he went. He'd felt so...lost In his history class, and didn't want a repeat of that.

(Uhhh anywhere, really. Have her do something and one of my characters will find her somehow)
"You can have a poster just like this, that can fit in your notebook," Mrs. Mullen said, rummaging around in her drawer for one. "And I'll have your classes recorded until we get you reading better."

Re: Welcome to Highschool.
((Alright, thanks))
Aribella - I walked into the school nervously. I had never been the new kid before, and yet... I sighed. If only my mother hadn't of ran off with a rich investment banker who decided to move us here! It was 300 miles away from my friends, family, and boyfriend. Oh sorry EX boyfriend. All because of Tim the investment banker... I was looking for some room, but there was no way I could find it.

Aribella - I looked up, "Sure." I said with a small smile. He was certainly cute.
Re: Welcome to Highschool.
"Well, where are you going?" "A slow smile crept across Nate's face. "I can't help you if you don't tell me."

Re: Welcome to Highschool.
Aribella - I blushed a little and looked at my paper, "Introduction to Film." At least is was a good class... or it sounded like it would be.
Re: Welcome to Highschool.
((In response to Mrs.Mullen a' couple posts up.))
"Thank you...Erm..I don't have a notebook though...I didn't know I was suppoused to buy one." T.Mor muttered. Not that he had the money currently anyway, but that was beside the point. He took the paper from her and looked down at it. He felt somewhat accomplished, being able to look down at the sheet and name the letters. "Thank you." He said politely.
