Lacey: I looked at the line where you were supposed to go to get your lunch. It was closed. Of course. Could this day get any better? I turned around and went back to the courtyard, wondering where Max had gone. He hadn't followed me into the lunch room. I walked just inside the hallway and fed a dollar to the vending machine. I pressed iced tea, and... none left. "Ugh!" I shouted, kicking the vending machine.

Ashleigh- *walks over to vending machine.* "Hey there buddy... You alright? You don't gotta kick it, just put your money in... Oh wait I heard about you... Your lora...no Lola... Crap. Your that transfer chick. Anyway, is that how you use vending machines where you're from."

Lacey: Yes. I'm from go to hell land. "No." I said, thrusting a smile onto my face. "Not at all. But in LA, our vending machines are actually stocked." Before she could answer, I grabbed my dollar and walked past her down the hall.

Ashleigh- "Woah Woah wait there fella. Welcome to hell. This is your new home, and let me tell you, it's gonna take a while to get use to. Trust me it sucks here. But I promise you this, it'll get better... There's another vending machine down the hall I'll walk down there with you. I gotta ditch my class that way anyway." I check the girl i was talking to out, fair skin, a kind of pretty face, and still nameless. "what's your name by the way?" I ask cautiously. I offer a bit if information, "I'm Ashleigh, and I suggest you stay on my good side." *winks*

Lacey: Without looking at her, I spoke. "Lacey." I turned around, facing her. "And I suggest you stay on my good side."

Ashleigh- *Laughs* she clearly doesn't know who she's dealing with "okay sweetie, why don't you talk around and ask people about me before making little threats *winks*. Now do you wanna go to the other machine or not? I know they're not outta ice tea there, come on."

Lacey: I start walking. "You know what I really want?" I asked. "A Hershey bar. I haven't had one in years. Can I get one in school?"

Ashleigh- "Yeah. Ya can. It's called a vending machine. There's a few around campus." *Rolls eyes.* "Would you stop asking questions and follow me? Don't you have a class to be at or something anyway. I didn't think a new girl like you would be wondering around campus like this... Why haven't you had a chocolate bar in forver anyway?" What kind of conversation starter was this anyway. I couldn't wait to hear the story behind this.

Lacey: I rolled my eyes now. "I lived in LA. Why do you think?" I paused. "And why wouldn't a 'new girl' be wandering around campus? What, do you think I want to go to class or something?"

Ashleigh- "Yeah, you're right. No one wants to go to class. And also, wanna come to my locker, I have a food stash. There's bound to be a chocolate bar in there somewhere." I start walking towards the direction of my locker. The hallway was oddly quiet. I wondered where my boyfriend was. He was suppose to meet me this period. I whispered silently to myself, "Whatever."

Lacey: "What did you say?"

Ashleigh- "What?" I was totally caught off guard by that. Did she hear what I murmured about my oh-so-wonderful boyfriend? Oh well. "It's just my boyfriend, we're having issues..."

Lacey: "Oh." I said, curious. Interesting. "What's his name?"

Ashleigh- "Jaycyn"... "But I prefer to call him Jerkcyn" I couldn't help but laugh at my witty comment, I really am a dork.

Lacey: I didn't laugh. "Does he also go here?"

Ashleigh- No I thought, I met him at the north pole "Yeah," I said, "He does. Well he does for now. If he doesn't get his grades up his parents might have to transfer him." I got tears in my eyes, but quickley blinked them away.

Lacey: Not a college guy, then. "Oh. Interesting."

Ashleigh- "Whatcha mean?"

Lacey: "Oh, nothing. So... why hasn't the school done anything yet? Like, is he in some sport or something?"

Ashleigh- "The school doesn't want to let go of him because he gets them a lot of money. He's like really smart and stuff, so yeah. He tests and they get the money. Sick huh? And not the good kind of sick."

Lacey: What the hell? "So then why is he getting bad grades?"

Ashleigh- "YOU CANT TELL ANYONE. They have him running so many tests at all times he has no time for life anymore. And no one can know, so the teachers just think he's slacking. Ive been trying to figure out what to do about it for months. But there's nothing I can do. He'll get in trouble if the school knows even I know."

Lacey: "Well, that's just stupid. How about this: stop testing, and use that time to do school work, so the school can't kick him out."

Ashleigh- "Do you want to come over after school? I can explain everything then..." It's been so long since I had an actual friend. Gosh. And since someones been to my house. Forever.
