Daggerhorn..

"Well that's stupid" artemis scoffed, wincing as pain rolled though her. "is everyone else okay?"

Josie raised her head and whined.

Lark still out.

Sam stared at her with wide eyes and ran a hand through her fur. "Jos..you're a wolf." He said in a disbelieving voice.

Sariah started to fall asleep as she sat up. She glanced over at Lark and brushed a few locks of hair from his face as she got Colton to stop crying again.

James watched her for a moment. "As far as I know. We did loose a healer though. She was coming from Sariah's tent. She had a baby. Two months early. The woman was trying to dispose of the sheets. There were a few others, but I don't know who they are."

Artemis smiled wide "your sister had a baby? have you gone to go see her?"

James shook his head as he watched her. "I don't think she'd appreciate it if a wolf appeared in her tent to look at her baby. She doesn't know about this yet." He said as he did his best to jesture at himself.

Artemis petted his snout gingerly, "why haven't you shifted back? Are you stuck?" worry filled her

James sighed and gave a slight nod. "It's still to cold." He said as he watched her.

Artemis pulled him to her, resisting the strange urge to cry. A flap opened and merana walked in

James rested his head on her, trying his best to be gentle with her and looked at the woman that came through the flap.

Josie whined again and pushed up closer against Sam's side. "Sam?"

Lark stirred in his sleep to smile at Sariah and Colton before immediately dropping back off.

(cough cough, that's your women taylow XD the wise old lady. did I get her name wrong?)

Artemis tried hard to sit up but the motion caused pain to erupt through her side. She laid back down and let her eyes close "tend to james? please?" she asked the women, her breath ragged

Sam looks at her a little shocked. "Yes?" He asked, not expecting to hear her in his mind.

Mehina moved to tend his wounds but he growled and motioned for her to tend to Artemis. The old woman eyes him but complies and gives her a small leaf to relieve the pain and looks over her wounds, making sure they are clean.

Artemis scowled at james and grimaced as Mehina poked and prodded the area "the baby's okay?!" she gripped her arm desperately

Josie looked at him shocked, "You heard that?" she shuddered, her fur bristling. What was going on?

Mehina stared at her and her eyes grew sorrowful as she gave a slight shake of the head.

Sam nodded, his body still covered in gashes, though most of them were bandaged, except the ones on his face and neck. "Yes. I heard it."

Josie stood, jumping from the bed. "I'm going to get someone to check on you."

Dread filled her "what-what do you mean?" she asked quietly "is the baby okay?" she repeated, wishing desperately for a different response

"I'm afraid not." Mehina said as she watched her. "I believe the baby's passed on." She said quietly. James sat there tense, his eyes slightly distant.

Sam's eyes got wide. "No! Josie! You can't they'll kill you!."

Josie hesitated, letting out a small whimper. "But.....what about you?"

Artemis stared at her for a moment before tearing her unwilling body out of the bed "you're, you're lying" she accused, tears falling down her face as she ran from them tent, her legs barely managing to support her weight as she dashed blindly though the tents. no.. no no no no... it just couldn't be

"I'm fine." Sam said quickly, hoping she'd come back. "It's just a few cuts. I'm fine. Honest."

James growled and let up, chasing after her, making a very bad scene. The men seeing this began to chase after him, swords raised.

Josie hesitated again and stuck her head out of the tent to see if any healers were nearby. "I won't leave but I'm not going to just let you sit there and bleed."

Sam frowned "I'm fine! Look! I've even got bandadges."

Artemis collapsed and soon after james was besides her. she clutched him in desperation, sobbing in his fur. Her wound had opened back up but she didn't care. She had lost their baby. So was not fit to be a wife.

Josie ignored him and looked around.
