--Daycare--

Jamie
I sighed, "Listen, i am not a demon. Okay?" i tried to say things a little bit slower. Lyla's wings fluttered beside me.

Evan looked up at the new boy with black hair(t.mor), "Wanna draw with me?"

Leslie

"But! How can you not be a demon?!" I protested. "Your wings are black! Demons have black wings! Angels have light wings!"

Jamie
"Im a dark angel! Look! I have a gray glow coming off of me, and our wings look kind of different"

T.Mor:

Someone asked if I would like to draw with them, and a girl with bright red hair told me...sort of an answer to my question...Ok. "Sure...I'll draw with you." I said somewhat...awkwardly. "What is your name?"

Mr.Face:

Another word I did not know. I should learn more words. "I don't know the word 'bird'. What is that?" I asked her, still idly building. I had connected 56 blocks together, starting to assemble a large, hollow cube. I like geometry.

"My name's Evan. What's yours?" asked Evan. He ripped off a page and handed him some crayons.

Leslie

"Well duh," I said. Duh? What kind of word was that? "Of course our wings look kind of different! Loads of demons have slightly different wings!" Mine had a reddish sheen, while hers had more of a silver one.


Nike

Wow. This kid...

"Birds are feathery creatures with beaks," I explained. "They're cold-blooded, and they can fly."

Jamie
"Im a dark angel!" I said. "Im also a Turned Angel, well thats what Ale said."
Lyla
I made a dove appear in my hands. "Look" i said and gave the boy with no eyes the dove.

Leslie

"What the Hell is that supposed to mean?!" I demanded. "Humans like to make stuff up about angels and demons because they don't understand them. Apparently, you believe the stories!"

T.Mor:

I had never seen so many colours...That..was a lot of colours. "T.Morbid...But you can call me T.Mor..." I said. I picked up a brown crayon and started on...my drawing.

Mr.Face:

"Oh. Ok." I said...not really sure where I should be pointing my head. Should I be pretending to look at my building? Or pretending to look at her? Or neither? I didn't know. I settled for pointing it straight forward...and not turning toward either. I just stared straight ahead.

"But Ale said so! She knows everything about me!" i said, now starting to get angry.

Leslie

"Who the Hell is Ale?!" I demanded. "She must be a damned fool!"

I loved using idioms involving damnation...so funny...

I...couldn't help but notice the odd kids that had come in. Let's see...we had a guy without any eyes...a couple kids with wings..."Odd crowd," I commented. This was getting wierder by the second.

Finn
I shot Cricket a look. "Of course not...I'm just curious as t' 'ow...what 'appened?"

Sarah

I looked with wide eyes at the three winged girls and the faceless boy.

"What the...?"


Peter

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you," I said, shaking my head. "The refugees didn't believe me."

Mr.Face:

I completed my cube. It was perfect.

I stood up, totally unsure of what to do next. There was a wall about three feet away. I liked walls. Not as much as floors...but...still. I went over and stood by the wall.

I still wanted to touch Nike's face...But thought that it would be..intrusive to the conversation.

Tickety
I didn't quite know how to react to this. "That's...ah...lovely...whatever they are."

Cricket
"Do we look like refugees t' you?" I asked, and then Finn and I looked at each other and thought about that statement. "Well..." we said in unison.

Peter

"Um..." I tugged at the frayed hem of my shirt uncomfortably. "Well, we got taken away by people in robes...and some blue fox people...who put us in this fenced off place...and then we saw this huuuuuge, bright, blue and white field thing of light...and then we flew through this sparkling place and woke up in a strange city...and we had powers. We don't know how it happened...and we don't know how to get home." I looked at him and gave him an "I don't know what to tell you" shrug.

Jamie
"Ale is...." Who was Ale? Not my mom, or family. "She's the lady who brought me here! She said something about needing to write."

Mr.Face:

I put the cube down. I was going to go ask to touch Nike's face. I wanted to. Regardless of whether or not it was a rude interruption to the conversation that was going on. I was going to go ask. I stepped in her direction. I could hear her breathing. "Erm. Excuse the interruption...But...can I touch your face?" I didn't know where to unlook. At her? The floor? Somewhere else entirely? I hated this problem. It was the biggest problem with social interaction.

Leslie

"Huh..." I said. "The lady who brought me here said she needed to write, too."


Nike

Right, he needed to touch my face so he'd know what I looked like. I knew a blind kid back home. A-3 was such a populous place that it was hard to not know species X with condition Y.

"Sure," I told him.

Mr.Face:

She said yes. Maybe she wasn't...some kind of hideous street brat like the rest of the other kids I knew. This thought...Was a good thought. "Thank you." I told her, somewhat shocked.

I extended both hands toward her face, carefully. My hands were always cold. She had nice skin, I noticed. I felt along her nose...and eyes...all these features I did not have for myself. My fingertips brushed along her hair, running down along each side of her face, to her jawline, and they met at her chin. "You have a nice face." I told her, awkwardly withdrawing my hands to my sides.

Jamie
"What do you think they're writing?" i asked

Leslie

"I don't know," I said. "I don't even know who the lady was that brought me."


Nike

His hands were cold, but I resisted the urge to pull back. He had to do this if he wanted to know what I looked like.

I had a nice face?

"Um, thank you," I said.

Mr.Face:

"You're welcome." I grinned, hoping I didn't have blood on my teeth...I bit my toungue again before we left for...this place. Completely by accident...But I had these pointy teeth...that were just...horribly unforgiving toward my toungue.

"T.Mor...that's a cool name! It's way better than mine," Evan grinned, he wished he had a name as cool as that.
