Wow, I hadn't even drank the Mountain Dew yet.
"Do you get free Mountain Dew if you work here, Mosseylyn? Huh? Do you, do you?"

The more she called me that, the less patience I seemed to have. ...Actually, her mere presence was draining my patience. And I didn't have a lot of that to begin with.

"No," I answered. "But I get a discount on stuff."

I finally spotted Kay inside a store, looking like she was harassing some poor worker. I burst in, making a beeline to where they were "There you are, Kay!" I exclaimed with a sigh, trying to hide how worried I had been

"Is Mountain Dew part of that "stuff?" Do you think I could get a job here, too, Moss?" My face lit up. "Oh my gosh, Moss! We could work together all day long! And then...maybe...after work we could even have sleepovers! Oh, Moss, wouldn't that be great?!"

I turned when I heard Reese. "Oh...hi, Reese." I quickly hid the Mountain Dew behind my back. "Funny meeting you here."

We passed through the alleyway, almost to the main street now.
The closer we got to other people, to these dirty circus freaks and homeless, the tighter I held Azul.

They all seemed so happy.

I raised an eyebrow "That wouldn't happen to be... mountain dew behind your back, would it, Kay?"

"Where would you get an idea like that?" I asked slowly.

Just when we were getting to the main street, Azul jumped from my arms, running after some squirrel or cat or something.
"Azul," I cried out, taking off after her, into the streets.

I sighed. I wasn't about to go after her goddamn dog.

"Then let me see what you're hiding" I said simply, crossing my arms

I was walking aimlessly, when suddenly, some dog trotted up to me. I tried to keep walking, but it planted itself firmly in my path. I walked around it, but it started walking after me, making little noises of unhappiness. What the heck?!

Joss

Oh thank God. Someone had come for her. Maybe now I could get some peace around here...

"That would be Mountain Dew," I said, eager to rat the creepy girl out.

I scowled at Moss. "How could you, Mosslyn? I thought we were friends!"

❚ Julia ❚
I finally found Azul, following some guy. Was he trying to steal her?

"Excuse me? That's my dog," I called.

Joss

"I never said we were friends!" I shot back. "I don't even know you!"

And you're creepy, and weird, and hyper, and...

My God. I was getting all worked up over some strange chick that I'd never even seen until about five minutes ago.

"But-but." I used my puppy dog face, and I have a very good puppy dog face -- ask Reese. "I thought we were going to work together and have sleepovers?"

Reese
"Kay, give me the mountain dew" I said very carefully, like a police officer talking to a crazy person with a gun

Jude
"Then take it back" I called back, over my shoulder. Geez, the dog was just following me, what did the lady think I was trying to do? Steal it?

Joss

"And hey," I said to the girl, "you said that stuff, not me. Again, I don't even know you!"

Not to mention that your insistence to not use my actual name is getting really annoying, here.

"No," I said, my lips pouty, so close to stomping my foot. "I already bought it."
"And Mosssssss," I said, turning back to her. "Come on!"

I sighed and tried to keep up with them.
"Fuck this," I mumbled, slipping off the blasted heels.
I easily caught up now.
"Come on, Azul," I said to the dog, holding out a treat that I had in my bag.
She just looked at me and continued following the guy.
"What...."

Reese
"Remember what happened last time you drank that?" I asked pointedly "You know it causes... problems. Now put it down, and leave the nice lady alone"

Jude
I did my best to ignore the lady and her annoying dog, but it started yapping again, nudging the back of my leg

"I already bought it, can't I drink it...pleeeeease?" I pouted. "Jonas doesn't have to know!"

"I'm really sorry, I don't know what got into her...come on, Azul," I tried again, but she just growled slightly and continued nudging the guy.

"If you like, break your arm, I think THAT will be a little hard to hide from him, huh?" I muttered, holding out my hand "Gimmie the soda, Kay"

I resisted the urge to punt the dog as far as I could. Honestly, this was getting friggen annoying. I stopped walking, and the dog started pawing at me, then glanced back at Julia with a tiny whine.

I just watched the scene with some odd shade of wonder. What mental problems did this girl have? She was acting like a small child! Then I felt bad... Maybe she did have mental problems. If that was the case, I was being kinda mean here...

"MINE!" I cried out, running from the shop with the bottle tucked under my arm.

My brow furrowed over my blue eyes. "It's weird, she doesn't usually take a liking to people. Especially ..." I glanced at him. Street people. "uh, never mind. She's just not a people person...er, people dog."

Not this again.... I flashed an apologetic look at the lady before running off after the runaway Kay

"Uh... cool?" I muttered, still trying, unsuccessfully, to move away from the dog

I ran a few blocks, then up a fire escape to a rooftop.
Then I promptly opened my Mountain Dew and chugged it.

I forgot that my parents were practically paying Daniel to be interested in me. People on the streets wouldn't want to talk much.
Not that I wanted to talk to them.
I knelt down to try and grab Azul, but she scampered out of my grasp.
I sighed and stood up again. This was ridiculous.

I let out a relieved sigh, glad to be rid of her. She was so draining... I felt like I needed a nap now or something. Ridiculous.
