Jackson nodded, "Of course." He jotted down then climbed from the bed and grabbed her wheelchair from its place by the door. He wrapped one arm under her legs and the other her arms and shoulders then lifted her from the bed. Ignoring the sudden pain in his shoulder he placed her in the wheelchair and smiled, resisting the urge to rub his shoulder.

Lou smiled up at him and did her best to roll the wheels, even with her wrapped hand, and started out the door, expecting him to follow.

Jackson frowned and lightly took the handles of her wheelchair, letting her lead. He just added a little of his strength to hers to help her move. He pushed his now aching shoulder to the back of his mind, annoyed by its throbbing.

Lou smiled as she directed him towards a room where a piano sat at it's far corner. She glanced up at him and rolled foreward, moving the bench out of the way slightly so she could get to the piano, opening up the key board.

Jackson smiled broadly at the sight, memories of his hands on the keys drawing to the front of the mix of mismatched memories. He moved next to her and let a finger lightly caress a key. "Can you play?" He mouthed to her.

Lou shrugged. "You taught me a few songs that you wrote." She mouthed back, not wanting to speak for fear of what her voice sounded like. She couldn't hear it, but she was sure it didn't sound pretty. She put her unwrapped hand on the keys and played a little of one of the tunes he had taught her.

Jackson's brow drew together, as the notes pulled a memory to the front hisr mind.
"Does it go like this?" He played a few notes.

Lou frowned as she watched his hands and sighed. She wished she could hear. She put her hand to the piano, focusing on the feel of vibrations of the strings and bit her lip and looked at him saddly. "I don't know." She mouthed, her head hanging slightly.

Jackson stopped playing and wrapped his arms around her shoulders. Stupid, he told himself, such a stupid move. Of course Jackson, remind her she can't hear. So stupid.
"I'm sorry." He mouthed holding her close.

"It's ok," Lou mouthed as she leaned into him and then sighed. She felt around in the pocket of her wheelchair and pulled out a pad and paper. "This is the one you use to play for me whenever I asked you to play me something. I memorized the keys." She handed him the pad and unwrapped her hand. Her skin was marred by a scar that shot all across her hand and down the front of her arm, like a cartoon explosion. She bit her lip, fighting a wince as she touched the sensitive skin to the ivories and then began to play the song.

Jackson's eyes went wide at the sight of the scar and he opened his mouth to tell her to put the bandage back on but the song caught his attention. It rang a bell in his mind, pulling a something he'd said along time ago, to whom he'd said it he didn't know. He'd told them that his life was full of music, that every day was a new song to him just waiting to be played. He grinned and moved down on the piano to play a lower chord, an acompiament(sp), while she.played the main.

Lou smiled as she felt the vibrations from his keys mix with hers. She looked up at him and stopped playing, grabbing her note pad. "Told you that you would remember."

Jackson smiled and took the pad with a nod. "Music helps." He wrote and handed it back. His head was a mess of little bits of memories of playing that song, and things associated with it.

Lou smiled and nodded. "You always use to say that everyday was a new song. You just need to remember the songs."

Jackson grinned broadly and scribbled quickly on the paper, "I remember saying that!" He hugged her happily then turned back to the keys letting his hands move in the direction of a simple melody echoing in his mind.

Lou smiled and watched him, grabbing the gauze and wrap, and wrapped her hand again.

Jackson winced a little and flexed his shoulder as he played, it ached horribly but he wasn't going to say anything. He wanted to stay right here and play, not go to his room and sleep with painkillers and forget who knows what.

Lou smiled and leaned against him, despite the protest of her ribs. She yawned quietly, dozing off as he played.

Jackson smiled down at her, the melody turning into something he knew was new. It was soft and sweet, the notes raising and falling as gentle as the rise and fall of her sleeping breath. He smiled when it was over, reaching over to rub his shoulder. He only wished he could play it for her, that she could hear the song he'd written for her.

Lou remained asleep, the thunder not stirring her. She was with Jackson, she was safe. Part of her life was back in it's place. Perhaps...perhaps it could be alright.

After awhile he felt himself start to drift off, so making sure there were no nurses in sight he gently and slowly wheeled her back to his room. Then ignoring his aching shoulder lifted her into the bed, before promptly passing out next to her in the small bed.

Lou stirred long enough to cuddle next to him, her fingers clutching to him to make sure he was there when she woke up. When she woke, the sun was shining in her eyes. Once again, everything was deathly silent, not even her own heartbeat could be heard.

((Ooo, messing with his memory time....))

Jackson woke and glanced at Lou confused and basically went flying off the bed. "Lou! What the heck?" He fell to the ground and winced grabbing his shoulder. The his eyes saw the room, "Where are we? What the heck are we doing in the same bed?"

Lou stared at him with wide eyes. He was moving so fast she couldn't read his lips. She felt fear rise in her, fear that he had forgotten again.
