Ember: I sat in a tree, looking up at the sky that was darkening.

Quinn: I left the house hurriedly. My parents asked way too many questions. 'Where are you going, what are you doing, why did you and Skylar break up?' Shut the freak up mom, you don't need to know. Ir ruffled my hair and walked with my hands jammed in my pocket. I almost jumped out of my skin when a branch in a tree broke, and revealed a girl sitting up there.
"What the heck?" I mumbled, surprised at her presence. "Hello."

Ember: "Oh, sorry!" I called, down to him, adjusting myself to keep from falling.

Quinn: "Uh. It's cool I guess." I looked down and smiled before looking back up. "Can I ask why you're in a tree?"

EMber: "Looking up at the sky." I shrugged, "Its a great view." I glanced down at him, and smiled lightly. He was cute.

Quinn: I laughed. "Cant you do that from your rooftop at home?" That's what I did. I didn't need to- WANT to- climb into a tree to watch the moon.

Ember: "I dont like my rooftop back home." I shrugged. I didnt like my home in general.

Quinn: "What?" I asked disbelievingly. All the roofs were nice in this rich snot-nosed neighborhood. How could someone not like them? "Whats not to like about them? There are sections covered with artificial grass!

Ember: "They arent real enough." I shrugged.

Quinn: I stared at her. "Hence the term: Artificial. I'm Quinn. I don't think I've seen you around here before?"

Ember: "Amber Light, but everyone calls me Ember." I told him, jumping down to the ground, "But you probably havent, i'm realitivily knew here."

Quinn: "Huh, I get it." I said, referring to her nickname. "which house is yours?" I asked, gesturing to the magnificent houses along the street. They looked even nicer now that it was nighttime.

Ember: I didnt answer him, but glanced up to the sky again.

Quinn: "Oh, don't worry. I'm not a creepy stalker or anything. I just kinda know most of the people here and everything," I said, giving her a reassuring smile.

Ember: "Who said one of the houses was mine?" I asked him, still looking up to the sky.

Quinn: Touche... "So you don't live here?" This was usually a resedential area, so how had she managed to get in?

Ember: "Nope." I shrugged. "And if you are wondering how i got in...well you dont really wanna know."

Quinn: I snorted and rolled my eyes, taking a seat on a low branch. "Well NOW I do..."

Ember: I stuck my tongue out to him, and climbed a bit higher in the trees. "You guys need to start watching your south fenses. There are like no guards what soever.

Quinn: I shrugged at that. That was how Skylar and I left the area to see a doctor who WOULDN't contact our parents, even though we're legal adults. Our usual doctor would report it right away.

Ember: "So, Quinn, how old are you?" I asked.

Quinn: Ugh, not age.... I couldn't bear being 19. The thought of turning 20 next year haunted me constantly. "19 and hating it." I said, pulling strands of hair in front of my eyes before flicking them away. Just a method I had developed.

Ember: "Wow, im 17 and wish i was 18." I shrugged. 18 and i could live by my self leagally.

Quinn: I shook my head. "Savor every last bit of your last years as a teenager. I only turned 19 two weeks ago, and it feels like it came way too fast." I guess being 20 wouldn't be so bad, and the parties really started when I turned 21 but still... I won't a be a teenager anymore.

Ember: "Tust me, i dont want to be underage any more." I told him.
