R.I.P Elaina

Jace looked down at her and pursed his lips. He fished into his pockets, finding a very crumpled, worn five dollar bill he figured had gone through the wash a few times. "You hungry?" He asked quietly. If they walked far enough, there was sure to be a McDonalds or something.

Zerrick rubbed his face and pushed his food away. He grabbed a pair of shorts and a t-shirt out of his bag and began to change. Great. Now he was pushing Karina away too. he had no luck whatsoever with the ladies.

"A little...but I'll be fine," Elaina said. She didn't want to take his money. God only knew that families with cancer patients didn't have much money to spare.

Karina came out and sat on the bed, braiding her hair into one, long braid. She didn't look at Zerrick or try to start a conversation.

Jace frowned. "Okay," he said, looking down at her with a small smile. "But if you get hungry, don't hesitate to tell me," he said, trying to assure her it'd be fine. It was because of the cancer, wasn't it?

Elaina shrugged, as if to say 'okay.' Then she glanced around the lofty area. "What on Earth are we going to do here? There's /nothing/ to do here. We'll be bored out of our skulls, won't we?"

Now Karina really was ignoring him. Zerrick walked over to her and turned her to face him. "What's wrong, Karina?"

Karina blinked. "Nothing. I just figure if I don't say anything, I won't piss you off."

Jace laughed quietly and looked at her with a smile. "That, Elaina, is a very good question," he said. His smile grew into a small grin and he looked over the loft, sighing.

"I'm sorry." Zerrick pulled her into a hug. "I just...it's hurts inside to talk about Illia. Not because I have feelings for her, but because she killed my child. I would have wanted it... I would have loved it..." He buried his face in her shoulder, emotion causing his chest to hurt.

"The most obvious thing to do would be to clean," Elaina joked, though it wasn't a TERRIBLE idea. What was the point, however, if they weren't going to stay here too long?

Karina let him hug her, let him use her as a sounding board.

Zerrick soon pulled away and rubbed her cheek. "Are we okay?"

"I didn't realize there was a 'we'" Karina said slowly, looking at him funny.

"I meant our friendship..." Zerrick said, letting her go, his face turning red.

"Oh." Karina looked down, getting a little bit of a blush herself. She looked up at him. "Friendship..." Were they friends with benefits now then?

Jace chuckled and shrugged. "If you want to clean, than we can clean," he said with a small grin. "But, how do I know that neither of us have dust allergies?" He asked.

Elaina gave him a dry look, then shoved his arm. "You're such a girl sometimes. Worrying about allergies?"

Zerrick could tell what she was thinking. He face palmed and couldn't help but laugh. "I am just making this so much worse."

Jace grinned. "Then that must make you bisexual," he laughed, scooting away from her with a teasing look.

"Yeah..." Karina bit her lip. "I guess we're both just unsure yet....which is okay, I guess...."

Elaina stuck her tongue out at him. "Hmph." She had no retort for that.

"Yeah. I think we are in the middle of both." Zerrick gave her a half smile and finished packing his stuff.

Jace slid back to her, chuckling. "So, what should we do?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Hm," Karina said, not sure how she felt about that. She'd already packed her stuff, so she was ready to go.

Elaina sniffed. "I'm not doing anything with someone who called me a bisexual," She said, though she wasn't actually mad.

"Fine. i won't do anything with someone who thinks I'm part girl," Jace said, but he couldn't keep the smile off his face and teasing out of his voice.

Elaina looked at him, trying to keep a straight face, but then laughed and fell back on the mattress they were sitting on. "I don't know what we should do..hmm."

Zerrick couldn't say anything to satisfy her, so he dropped it. When he finished packing, he went downstairs to check out.
