Challenge Character Chat: What Happens in the Rain Empty Challenge Character Chat: What Happens in the Rain

For what seems like forever, rain has been a universal symbol of peace. In some countries, a symbol of hope, or joy, or even sadness. Droplets of water like tears, pelting from the sky, either make a person scared out of their mind or sends them to their happy place. Sometimes, rain can have both effects, depending on whether it's a thunderstorm or just a drizzle. Every droplet, and every type of rain, is unique; as every person, and every reaction is.

You live in a place called Norwick. It's one of those small-towns, with a big city on the horizon. You most likely live in the not-so-great part of town, as that's where most of this C.C. will take place. However, maybe you're extremely wealthy and live in the city, but came here for business today. Or maybe you're a wandering traveller and thought that maybe, just maybe, Norwick would bring you luck in these darker days.

Either way, no matter your reason or status, today is a rainy day. How you choose to deal with this rainy day is up to you, though you should know that EVERY choice you make will have an effect later.

Every. Choice.

---

This C.C. will work much like a videogame. Why?:

-There are limited places for you to go.
-You earn points towards new opportunities.
-If you get off track, there are barriers that'll suddenly appear and force you back onto the beaten path. Er...;D

Places

The Neighborhood:
-Fields. At the far ends of south roads (away from the city) there's nothing but open fields. Many animals frolick through these fields, some nice and some not-so. Tread carefully.
-Woods. Behind all houses, past backyards, are woods. Behind one of the houses -- though I won't say whose -- there is an abandoned bungalow. Or is it abandoned?
-Houses. Your house should be a tad rundown, and not too large.
-Library. On the main road to the city is a library, with a very stern librarian known as Ms. Fran.
-School. This does take place during the school year, though it starts on the weekend. You will be expected to play through each period of the day (at least a post per class), and to stay on track with the rest.
-General Store. A small, old-fashioned grocery store that sells non-name brand goods, and is run by an aging couple who treats everyone like family.
-Rec Center. There's a game room (not arcade, board), vending machines, and a pool -- however, it is currently fall, so probably no swimming for you.
-The Bus Stop. Takes you from the Neighborhood to the City, for a small fee.

The City:
-Alleyways. Gangs hang here, enter if you dare.
-Lofts. Where all the wealthy, privileged folk live. Spacious apartments with good views and nice furnishings.
-The Mall. There's a candy store, Abercrombie & Hollister, American Eagle, Delia's, etc. If teenagers have jobs, then they usually work here.
-The Bank. Where all the money is kept, duh. Run by a stuffy, red-faced man.
-The Capital Building. Capital of Norwick, that is. Tall and filled with many, many offices. This is where any adults will most likely work.

RULES:
-four sentences per post and up. Thoughts, feelings, actions, dialogue. Keep those in mind and you'll have four sentences easily. If you continually do one-liners then you will be forced to write dramatic death scenes for your characters and then leave the chat. No questions asked.
-I will be playing all non-player characters. That means, you cannot control the shop owners or your relationship with the shop owners. You can not find an animal in the fields, or the abandoned bungalow. You can not join a gang, etc. You can PM me if you have a twist idea, but for the most part random events will be sprung on your character.
-There's a point system for how friendships and relationships work. This will NOT turn into a romance chat, okay? The points system will be revealed when all characters are submitted and added to the page. The points system will make sure everyone keeps realistic characters and events going.

All I want you tell me is the name of your character, their gender, age, and their looks (in a PM). All the rest may be slowly revealed as the chat progresses, and will keep people from targeting other peoples' characters. You MUST use new characters. There will be a short period where you can chat to other members and decide if maybe they're friends or family already, but other than that everyone is strangers to each other. Clear?
