Rain was on cloud nine as he held her hand. Feeling her soft delicate skin against his rough and calloused ones was something he could only dream of. The dreams, he thought, tonight we'll have the nightmare. As he and Janette got in the car he began to wonder if they'll br able to stand the night without one another. He could only hope for the best.

((LOL sorry for long wait, I had to reply on my phone!))

Emily waited for what like seemed forever to her until she thought what was Alex's car outside. She ran down stairs and told her parents that she'd br going out with something friends. She then said goodbye and ran outside.

Janette actually missed his hand holding hers when they had to let goo, although his were rough. She didn't mind. That simple touch gave her a sense of comfort. She glanced over at him from the passenger seat, and noticed a slight change in him. He was probably thinking the same thing she was, so she wasn't going to ask. She dodged the subject by saying with a small grin, "You know, I don't think you ever said where we're going for dinner...unless you want it to be a surprise."

(That's okay.)

Alex just got of the car as she ran outside, and honestly, was almost stopped dead in his tracks at the sight of her. It wasn't that she wasn't beautiful before, of course, but...
He had to say something. "Hey." He greeted her before smiling and complimenting her genuinely, "You look...amazing."

"Well, unless you don't want something to eat. We can always do something else." Rain mimicked her small grin as he began to drive off with her in the car; with no real set destination just yet.

Emily's smile grew more at Alex's admiring comment. "Thanks, you too." Her hands began to fumble with her dress, as she tried to wipe the sweat off them. "Shall we get going?"

Janette leaned back in the seat briefly, a thoughtful expression on her face, her features softening. "Hmm..." She began to brainstorm what else they could do and then started to suggest, "We could..." No, that idea wouldn't do. She couldn't think of much, and those ideas that she had weren't very good.

Alex nodded with just a slight smile, "Thanks...and yes." He answered, his arm briefly wrapping around her shoulders to escort her to the car. Then he opened the door for her like a gentleman, and once she was in, he shut the door and climbed into the driver's seat.

Rain smiled at Janette's cute expression on her face. "Let's just head to this one diner I know of." he chuckled as he turned the steering wheel to head towards the place. "It's rather nice, if you like regular American food. And if you don't we can always go somewhere else."

When Alex's arm was on Emily's shoulders, she could nearly feel her heart skip a beat. She even felt as if she was going to pass out. Then he open the car door for her! She blushed as she got in the car, smiling at Alex as he jumped in the driver's seat. "So how're you doing since we last spoke?"

"Oh, no, that's more than fine." Janette answered honestly and graciously with a smile. She thought about it briefly and then continued, "Actually, that sounds perfect."

Alex smiled over at her, noticing her slight blush before remembering what she asked and answered with a shrug, "Pretty good." Well, because he was ecstatic about their date. "How about you?"

Rain nodded and let his eyes focus on the road, not saying a word during the drive to the diner. When they got there he got out and quickly ran to the passengers side to open Janette's door and helped her out of the car. He then instantly went back to holding her hand as they walked into the establishment. "Whaddya think?" he asked as he opened the door for her.

"Good," she was squealing with joy on the inside, "just good." She clasped her hands together in her lap and adverted her head down; face turning a light pink. "I look forward to this..." she what she truly thought slip out of her mouth.

Janette smiled at his gesture and looked around the place as her hand found his again. It just seemed...natural. Lots of words could describe this diner, all of them good. "It's classy." She answered and then wondered how on earth a diner could be considered that, but this was.

Alex smiled and agreed softly, his gaze not leaving the road, "I do too." His smile widened briefly, because he did truly mean that. So, if he ended up embarrassing her (even more possibly)...at least he accomplished it with the truth.

Rain smirked at Janette's comment as a waiter ushered them toward a seat and gave them menus. The waiter then asked what they liked to drink, so Rain gave a simple reply. "I'll have lemonaide." He then waited for Janette to give her order before speaking again to her.

Emily smiled and she fiddled her hands more in her lap. She turned her gaze out to her window, smiling as she began to imagine the fun events to come this evening. She hadn't been to something like this for a long time; especially with someone she enjoyed having company with.

"Lemon iced tea." Janette answered and then the waiter left to get their drinks. Her attention returned to Rain, and she suddenly felt a little nervous. Her ankles crossed underneath the table and she clasped her hands together in her lap where he couldn't see. Though she was a bit nervous, she looked at him with interest. He looked like he was going to say something so she didn't want to interrupt.

Alex glanced over at her and smiled. He had to admit, he liked it when she smiled. Soon, they pulled up to his place and he went to the other side of the car to open the door for her again. He wouldn't let himself mess anything up. He cared about her opinion of him, obviously.

Rain smiled at Janette, forgetting about what he wanted to say. So intstead he decided to make a joke. "Lemon iced tea? Is that even a drink?" He chuckled nervously, wondering if it was too hash or stupid for Janette's taste of humor.

Emily couldn't help but grin as Alex helped her out of the car, she knew that she had him on the ropes. Then again, so was she. "Thank you," she said, looking at the ground so she wouldn't blush when she looked at his eyes, "it's very kind of you to open the door for me."

Janette laughed softly and smiled a bit, "Well, I think if it wasn't, I would have gotten a weird look from the waiter." She joked back.

Alex grinned, and shrugged slightly, "It's the gentlemanly thing to do." He replied before taking a small chance and extending his hand out for her to take.

Laughing, Rain rested his chin on his hand, staring into Janette's eyes. They seemed so magical and beautiful at that moment; could it have been the lighting? Nevertheless, he tried to think of another funny remark. "Touche, salesman. You've got me convinced."

Emily chuckled softly, feeling girly doing so, she let her hand fall into Alex's. His hands seemed so much larger than her own, yet they seem to melt together, like they were the perfect fit. "It is, I just wouldn't think many guys still do that."

Janette found herself looking into his eyes as well, and was almost transfixed before hearing what he said. "Really?" She questioned playfully, not expecting an answer whatsoever.

Alex smiled even more before saying casually as he lead her to the front door and then inside his home, "Then I suppose they don't know how to treat a girl right. At least, maybe not entirely."

(Sorry, I have no clue at all how to reply to the Hetalia chat right now...but I'm thinking of how to.)

((That's fine! Take your time!))

"Completely," he mumbled softly, hearing then orchestra music in his head for a cue to kiss the girl. Of course he remained where he was and kept his cool. He wouldn't kiss her until it was just--wait. Rain stopped his track of thought and changed the subject. Janette was just a friend, right? "and utterly hooked."

"You may have a point." Emily replied as she took a gander around Alex's house. It was all very pleasing to the eye. It wasn't at all like her home, which was just like a luxurious museum with a bed and breakfast combined. "You're house looks very well put together."

Janette swore she saw his expression change for a moment, but she dismissed it as a trick of light. Her smile toned down just a little as she felt her cheeks started to heat up. It both surprised, and for some reason embarrassed her, to think she might have that effect on him.

Alex smiled, "It took me a while to get it this way." He explained, "I wanted everything to look...not perfect, but designed well." He chuckled slightly, "Not a very 'manly' thing to admit." He joked before taking her to the kitchen/dining room. He had the table set already, and he figured, to be romantic, have a couple candles lit as well.

Rain noticed Janette's change of demeanor, and--though he wanted to forget it--he wasn't really wanting to let go of that thought. This memory that Rain and Janette had only, and only they could know about. Just like the dreams. Only they would know. "Sorry," he said with a quick breath, his chest all tightened up. "didn't mean for you to get...well...you know."

"It looks great, and it has a touch of manly I guess." Emily giggled, laughing at her own joke before he could get a chance. When she saw the table, all set and full of romance...she couldn't help but comment. "So pretty..."

Janette blinked, and looked up at him. Once she realized what he meant, she then assured him quickly, "Oh, no, you didn't do anything."

Alex couldn't help but smile as he said, "It's nice that you think so, I intended that." He commented honestly before opening the oven door and taking the pan out.

Rain gave a wryly smile, a bit better now that Janette seemed to be okay with what he said. Yet he still seemed nervous. "Well, I guess it doesn't really matter. So how I'd everything? Are you enjoying yourself?"

Emily smiled and took a seat by the table, taking in once more the atmosphere of the room. It was all very romantic. And she was enjoying it all. "One must wonder how Mich effort you put into this. It must be a lot.

(Ah, okay. No problem.)

Janette smiled as she answered, "Yes, I am." She didn't really mean to say the next part though, but she figured it wouldn't hurt to be honest, "It seems I always enjoy myself whenever I have you as company."

Alex shrugged, sitting across from her on the other side of the table after he had finished preparing their meal, which was homemade lasagna with garlic bread. It was simple, sure, maybe a bit...unrefined somehow, but the quality made up for it.

"Good then," Rain replied, glad that she was seeming to have a good time. "I enjoy myself when you are around too." The waiter came back with their drinks amd took thier orders. "I'm glad that we were able to meet. Even if it was from a dream ..."

Emily was surprised at how good the lasagna looked and smelled. She just couldn't wait to take a bite. "A cook and a decorator? You seem too good to be true."

Janette grinned partially, her chin resting in the palm of her hand as she looked at him and agreed, "Same here." She wanted to say a bit more but was somewhat afraid to.

Alex laughed briefly, "I'll take that as a compliment." He half-joked as he served the both of them. He was still smiling as he looked at her, wondering how he even got to this point, on a date with her at his place. It was, to him, a miracle.
