Re: The End of the Map (PIRATES)
Louie was sheathing his sword and heading towards the hatch that lead under deck to the kitchen when a flash of blonde and blur ran into him. "Mozther Marie Tobi! Watch where ya goin'!" he untangled himself from the older boy. "What set you?"

"Eli," I mumble, keeping my eyes on the stairs so as not to fall back down them. That was never good for the next week's comfort with bruises and a bumped head... "He's..." Ach, what was the saying... "...He's got a burning fuse..." Something told me that was wrong, but I didn't much care. It got the point across.

Louie shook his head and threw an arm around Tobi's shoulder and shook his head. "Better to stay out of his way then. What say you to looking over the charts together?"

"Uhm. I was just going to - to start cleaning my section of the deck," I mumble, glancing up at him. "Not to step on his nerves more..." I was always working however, earning my keep and what little awards I could get for my family back home.

"Yet is certainly the key word of that phrase for you," I jest slightly, though remaining stoic. "However, I need you to plan Hellen's raid. No more child's play."

Gianni brushed a dribble of apple juice from his chin.
"Well I've been thinking about that. Since the battle and the captin's fall our numbers have been...sparce. We lost a lot of good men that day and I don't think we have the force for a usual raid. I was thinking something more subtle; maybe send the group ashore to mix up some mischief and hire some new crew."

Louie stood silently a moment before shrugging. "Alright, I'll be in the crows nest if you need me then."

I emerged from the sleeping quarters and squinted at the sun. I chewed on my lower lip and wandered around the deck. Everyone was so... slow today. I waved to Louie.

Louie nodded his head in acknowledgment and stopped to talk to her. "Evie...we need to talk. Come up to the nest with me."

I agreed with a nod. Subtile was not the Dagger's ways, but they had to be smart about this. "So are we to stay for a while there, to find a crew? Risky business; this isn't Tortuga we're talking about, this is Britain. Their policy about is us..." I stab the knife into the cuttingboard to have it stay after I left it alone to punctuate the finality of that statement. Every pirate knew death was definite if caught by those blood Red Coats.

Gianni nodded. "But even Britain has some underbelly scum that could stand a ship. We'll steal some gold, grab a few men and get out of there. Its been done."
