A grin passed over the old dogs face. "Was that today?" Gianni said playfully. "Dunno if I remember that. Old man, you know." He gave the boy a wry look.
"Come on Dad," I nudged him.

Gianni had been the first mate, and Louie wanted him to teach him everything he new about piracy more than anyone else- but he'd hang before he would admit it. He'd made a pack with himself when he had turned thirteen. No more kids stuff, it was time to be a man. He always kept his promises, and this one was to himself. Someday...I'll be captain of the Devils Dagger swordsmanship was just the first small step. He was decent but he knew that he needed to be the best. Ever since that revelation he had been pestering the older man to take him on as a sort of apprentice. Now, he was finally going to test his steel. Louie smiled slighty. "Old man...I'll meet you up on the deck."

Tobi

"Lou, stop your distractions..." I mutter, going back down below deck to the stores again. Men were scrambling, getting to their stations and morning chores. At least the ship had retained some basic order, but one knew well to avoid the subject of who was to be next captain. Gianni was a good choice, but really, how much more did he have left to give before we were in the same situation? Lou had his dreams, but no one would follow one of the youngest here. I thought it silly. Every other ship I had been on was democratic about picking their next captain. The disputes were pointless to me...

Ellanore

She lay on her bed with her arms behind her head as she stare up into the dark cieling. The cell was dark and cold with water seeping through the black bricks. The prisoners didn't really talk with one another so the hungry rats were pretty much the only sound one could hear. Turning onto her side, she cast a glance out the barred window right above her, which was the only natural light in the whole cell. She sat up, looking around her as she fidgeted with her corset, loosening it as something metal hit the ground with a clunk. One of her many lockpicking tools.

Picking it up, she kneeled by the door to her cell and set to work on picking the lock.

Dad gathered himself and stood up. "Let me know when food is ready," he said to Eli. He moved to make his way upstairs.
I sighed and picked another briney chunk of wood from the table. I wondered when Anton would wake.

Carmen Valdez
I stumbled in through the back door of the tavern. My dress was ruined- covered in mud and barbs and torn. I felt disgusting. As I trudged into the bar a man from the back spotted me and started yelling at me.
"We've been sitting here for forever!"
"I'm sorry sir, just a minute." I jogged upstairs to get changed.
"Carmen there are customers downstairs, a dónde fuiste?" My father called to me.
"Yo soy el padre lo siento, I'll be right down," I promised, dashing into my room. I rumaged through my drawers until I found my red dress. It was slightly nicer than what I would normally wear for work but I was short for time. I tossed on my dress and tightened a corset over it.
How has this become my life, I thought as I made my way back down stairs.

Remy

"Oh calm," I tell the attendants of the bar. "There's nothing happening, no reason to rush the young madam." No one here took the time to enjoy their drinks anymore. "Cheré, when you have time..." I put down a silver with my nearly empty mug.

Carmen Valdez
I blushed a bit at a the patron's charity and went over to take his glass. "What'll it be?" I asked while brushing hair out of my face.

Remy

There's a grumble from the others, didn't understand...women loved their respect. "Information," I state, sitting back on the bar stool. "The job market around these parts for a silver and blacksmith, the...looked down upon type. Anyone I should look out for with a famous reputation? And your name, perhaps. Though I hear the Spanish girls like to stay a mystery."

Carmen Valdez
I quirked my brow. Interesting fellow.
A smirk crossed my lips, "Well one or two over there can get a bit frisky, but I can handle a few mid-morning drunks. But thanks for the concern." I turned to the sink and rinsed his cup.
"And I think I might inquire your name first, if you don't mind." I added over my shoulder.

Remy

"Remy. Remy LeBeau," I answer, leaning back into the bar. I had my other name,but that belonged back with my reputation in French America. "Smithy and silver worker, if my inquisition didn't draw that conclusion. My specialty is weapons."

Carmen Valdez
"You must lead an enchanting life Mr. LeBeau," I faced him again and set the cup in between us, resting both palms against the smoothed wood of the bar.
"Do you plan on drinking something? Or maybe you'd like to just sit with an empty cup," I tilted my head at the empty drink.

Remy

"No, no. Two is my limit; one in the morning and one in the evening. So ill be seeing you tonight?" I phrase it as a question, although she seemed to be the only one running this little family operation. Standing, I fix my jacket and pick up my staff lying beneath my stool.

Carmen Valdez
"Tonight?" I asked, confused. "Do you plan on coming back tonight?" I slipped his mug beneath the counter and dried my hands on a dish towel.

Ellanore

She was a quick-minded, cunning, crafty girl. It took her about two tries with her lock-picking skills to get the cell unlocked, and the door swung open. Grabbing her rapier from underneath the lumpy mattress, Ellanore ran up the spiraling stone steps to the big wooden door; to her freedom.

Stepping outside into the warmth of the sunshine, Ellanore couldn't help but smile. She walked toward the main plaza of Port Helens, and soon after she had arrived there, walked toward the tailor shop. If she was going to be back in town, then she would need a new appearence.

Inside the tailor shop stood three young women behind a wooden counter. Ellanore smiles at them and gives a quick curtsy. Seeing them smile, Ellanore then walks over to the counter. Time to get down to business.

"Welcome, Miss. What would you like?"

"To be completely honest, I need something that will make me look more of a man than a woman."

The owner smiles at her.

"Dodging the guards again, Ellanore?" She asked.

Ellanore's lips twitched into a smug smirk.

"You could say that."

With a nod, the owner led Ellanore to the back room of clothing that had already been made. Ellanore picked out a white puff-sleeved chemise, a black trench coat with gold embroidery, gray trousers, and brown boots with a matching brown belt. She had also picked up a black tricorn hat and green rag.
She then proceeded to her own private fortress to complete her transformation. She had cut her hair in the back so it became shorter than the front, braided the front piece on the left side of her face, and attached a gold coin to the braid.

She was complete.

Stepping back out into town, Ellanore this time headed straight to the tavern that spanish girl seemed to mention before they were almost apprehanded. Tilting her hat down so it barely covered her bi-colored eyes, Ellanore walked in and took a seat in the corner.

Remy

"Tonight, mon cheré." I give a little smile, my eyes drawn for a second to a woman walking in. "Or do you believe I may encounter a possible employer to my specialties here?" I ask, turning back to the Spanish girl at the bar. "Never did get your name, either..."

Carmen Valdez
My eyes flickered to the door as a girl slipped in and darted to a shadowed table in the back. I turned my attention back to the gentleman and put my hands on my hips. "Carmen Ariela Valdez. I work here, I live here. If you're looking for me, my bets would be here."

Avalon~

I glanced around the deck and sighed. Of course there where random things to do. I needed something to do! I had no job at the current moment and life on the boat made me want to kill someone. I sighed frustrated and sat on the deck. I glanced round me for someone to bug.. talk to.. anything.

Louie paced back and forth over the worn wood of the deck, sheathing and un-sheathing his sword in anticipation. In his head he reviewed the forms he already knew, and ones he had made up himself. When Gianni had reached the top of the stairs and looked up at him, he cooled his manner and smiled wolfishly. "Today is the day, Monsieur. I can feel it."

Gianni smiled at the boy and his confidence, un-sheathing a sword of his own. "All right boy, are you ready?" He asked, assuming a deuling stance.

[[I'm sorry it took me so long! My mom came and got me but then we had to go through this whole rig-a-ma-roll to get Lou home from the mall and it took RIDICULOUSLY long. Sorry:( ]]

"Bien sûr! Of course!" Louie pulled his sword out of its leather scabbard like a flash of lightning and began to circle the older pirate.

Gianni is not intimidated by the young boy's vigor and stands his ground, following him with the tip of his sword. Gianni dashed forward and struck at Louie's chest.

Louie parried the blow with an effortless twitch of his blade and swung his sword around to aim a blow at Gianni's stomach. He grinned as he remember the first words Gianni had ever taught him about sword play...the pointy end goes into the other guy.

Eli

"Wasting time," I mutter to myself as Tobi comes back with another crate. "Enough. If they'll all fool then they'll have to fuel such productions themselves." Morning on a ship should not have been full of the clash of swordplay. More like the scrubbing of the deck, the review over charts to see if we had strayed from our course over the night, the tightining of loose ropes from the shifting canons and supplies. Those supplies we were running low on, which we needed to plan this raid of Hellens for, otherwise we'd be dead in the water with nothing to the Devil's Dagger's name!

"Am I the only one to care about this ship and her fate?!" I snap at the boy, who simply jumps and stares at me. I pound down the blade of my knife upon the wood like plank of salted fish, cutting it cleanly in two. He flinches before turning and running to the stairs up, eyes wide.

"Oh give it a rest Eli. How's Louie ever supposed to learn if no one will teach him? Chores will get done like they do every day." I said with a little distain. I was so tired of ship chores. I couldn't wait for us to reach Port.
Gianni deflected Louie's blow and made a quick sweep at his short legs.
