The Pendant

Jake - "Wow," I smile at her, "that must suck."

Courtney: "Psh!" I sat up and looked at him. "Oh no, it's absolutely wonderful! Oh you can't believe it!" I rolled my eyes and began messing with a strand of my hair. "Sarcasm."

Jake - "I kinda figured," I told her.

Courtney: "So you arent completey stupid." I smirked at him. "You have some amount of brains that aren't toiling over new pickup lines, it seems."

O: Wandering was fun. I encountered no one and that was fine by me. Time for downstairs then. I started with what i knew: The entry hall and dining room and radiated outwards. Somehow i ended up in a beautiful courtyard. I looked around at the many colors of roses that fragranced the air perfectly. i walked down to the fountain in the center and observed the koi swimming around.

Luke: I walked down the stairs and saw the October girl. "Hello..." I said, though it sounded more like a question.

O: I looked up from the fish to see the mind reader. "Hey." My eyes traveled back down to the colorful koi as they begged for food.

Luke: "Er. I thought everyone was asleep." My eyes traveled to the fish she was looking at. Weird.

O: "Don't sleep much." That brought on the nightmares, which made me lose it, and i didn't like when that happened. I was supposed to be the one in control, but instead my powers were ruling my actions and fate. i knew he could probably hear all of this and i really didn't care. It was nice not to be the only one. There were others who people called freaks.

Luke: "Mhm..." How does anyone talk to her? I mean, she barely said anything. I couldn't really reply. Wait... "That must suck," I said, reading her thoughts.

O: I nodded and my refection did the same. "Yup." I twisted around and put my bare feet into the water and watched the fish investigate curiously. My eyes locked on one and i held my hand out gingerly . I easily bubbled the water around it and i guided it up. It now swam in a small orb of water floating in the air. My hand lowered but my gray eyes never left it. "It does."

Luke: "That;s incredible!" I laughed, watching the fish

October smiled. "It is i guess. It funny..." She paused for a moment, "That i can do all of this and yet a simple dream can unravel everything. I suppose that's why i came here. In hopes of control, and being as normal as possible."

Luke: I looked at her in confusion. "Getting the pendant is not the answer to that..."

O: "I know." I took my eyes away from the fish for a moment to look at him. "I thought i made that pretty clear in my thoughts. I'm here simply to learn, and if the thing chooses me...well, i haven't really gotten that far in my plans. More power certainly isn't what i need though." I guided the fish back to the fountain and placed it back with its friends.

Luke: I smiled. "That makes sense, I guess."

She sighed and leaned back to look at the stars. "Is that all anyone here thinks about? That silly pendent..." She shook her head and smiled as she closed her eyes.

Luke: "Well it's the main reason why I'm here.. So yes for me. I don't know about the other girl."

October looked over at him again. "And what would you do with more power? Be a lawyer extraordinaire?" She laughed at her own joke.

Luke: I smiled. "No. I'm content with what I have now. But it would be a bit cool to have powers beyond relief."

She frowned, turned around again, and stood on the cold stone that surrounded the fountain. "Then i see you as greedy."

Luke: "Maybe I am." I shrugged.

She stared at him with a blank expression. her eyes looked away and she started to walk off.

Luke: "Well goodbye then..." I said, walking back to my room.
