Back at the pound, curled up in our reed nests for the night, I looked at my brother with one sleepily opened eye. What if the Hunter had gotten me? What if the hunter had gotten him? We were two parts of a unit, inseparable from birth. We would have to be more careful.

Chase.
She's on to me, I realize and stutter to think of an excuse. It didn't help that the voices were still singing "Kill her! Kill her!"
"I, um, left my flashlight here when I was hiking yesterday, and figured it would be easier to search for it at night. You know, because the flashlight would be brighter at night?" Man, I'm really bad at this whole socializing thing.

"Uh huh, so the flashlight has been on all day, hasn't run out of battery power, and is worth hiking into an isolated patch of the forest at three in the morning to retrieve." Something was wrong with him, but I couldn't quite figure out what...

I wasn't sure how much to tell the stranger, so I went with vague. "Yah, every so often. I live fairly close to here"

"Oh, about a mile...or so away. You probably wouldn't know the town"

"Oh. Do you, um, live alone?" I said, trying not to sound creepy but also needing to know her weaknesses.

"What the hell?" I muttered in confusion, looking at some weird shape in the reeds. I had come to the pond to feed the fish. But clearly that wasn't going to happen, because whatever that was was a bit off. Maybe dangerous.

"What? No, no it's not. Its just, umm...I'm sorry?"

Raising my head sleepily, I see a woman. Human. "Drew" I barked sharply, a warning, and dove into the water. My twin followed close behind

Avia: I stared in confusion and looked to the fish swimming towards me, as they always did when I came near. Something to do with being an elf, I guess. Who was that? I thought before jumping into the water myself, giving myself gills, and began swimming towards the shapes. "Hello?" I called out.

"Um...alright then..." This guy was seriously creeping me out, and I took a step backwards

Alright, not so human. But secrecy was still our most important tool; even non humans didn't know of our existance, and we dove deeper into the murky water

Suddenly, I realized that I was still carring my trusty double bladed sword. I then knew how to get out of this awkward situation. I started to slowly move my hands towards my back and with a flick of the wrist i drew them to her neck...
