It's the faceless soldier with neither a cause nor feeling. It's fitting." I lean back and take another book. "Although I can't help but wonder who's book I am reading. Spade's? Or Elizabeth's? Will you tell me?"

I ignored his question, because he pretended to understand me. Pretended that I was two dimensional, a typical villain- or hero, as it may be. I was anything but.

Jack: I yawn. "Does it appear that I care although I know that you will tell me anyway." I take out a pack of cards and start to shuffle. "And I wasn't necesarily calling you two dimensional. Just that the person you pretend to be is."

Spades
I walked over to where he was, quickly snatching two cards from his deck "The ace of spades, and the joker. Two of a kind." I put the cards in my pocket "And I don't pretend to be anybody. Don't act like you 'get' me, Jack. There's only two people who really get me, no matter how you, or Batman, or Robin, or anybody else acts."

Jack: I slide the cards across the table and duplicates of the cards she took appear in the deck. Not the same, no. Something lost can never be regained no matter how hard we try. I'll let her keep the cards for now. I slide them back together. "And he left you to die. I guess we're more similar than you'd admit."

Spades
"Who left you to die, Jack? Your parents?" I took a third card from his pile, a jack of spades. "More similar indeed" I muttered, putting the jack with the two others. There was a queen of spades in there to, but his sister held no interest for me

dang, I have 10 minutes left, my mom's waking me up at 9 tomorrow and she said I have to go to bed at 12 -_-

Jack: "My sister," I say easily. "Who else? She saw me kill our parents when I was four and she was two." I promised her we could still be a family again. I told her I'd try my hardest. I look down at the cards in my hand and slowly start to shuffle the deck again. Something lost can't be regained. "Today's fight basically explains things with us, although she was pretty tame today."

"But she came back" I pointed out, leaning against a wall "and though I love hearing about your life story and all, I believe I have a painful existence of my own to return to"

Jack: I smirk one last time. "Wouldn't the Joker take you back if you asked?" I get up and lean forward, the spade and the Jack of spades in my hand. "In case you've forgotten, the king and queen always need pawns." They turn to pawns in my hand and I toss them to her before everything collapses again.

Spades
I catch the pawns easily, then the world dissolves and I'm left to think about what he said. When I woke up, I found the ace of spades in my pocket, but that was all. Then the pain hit, and I screamed silently

Mmk, night!

Robin jumped. "Spades?"
Emily walked up and paused. "Spades, you need to tell me where the pain is."
Kim leaned against the wall and sighed.

Spades
I gritted my teeth "My face... but mostly my knee. I think it's broken, or shattered" What was she going to do?

Speedy
I walk in, waving around an x-ray in front of Robin, Emily, and Kim "Four broken and two fractured, see... whoa Spades, what happened to you?"

Arrowette
"I'll add a concussion to that if you don't shut up right now..." I snapped. I was soooo not in the mood to deal with him...

Emily
I walked forward, my hand hovering over her knee. "It's going to hurt..." Sure the human body was sixty percent water, but bone wasn't my specialty.

Spades
I nod silently, closing my eyes

Speedy
Concern crossed my face; yeah, Spades was pretty freaking evil, but she was a hero now.

Emily
I nod. "They're going to have to hold you down." I look between the group. Kim steps forward, as does Arrowette and Robin, as i place my hand on her knee. I take a breath as they grab her and start moving things back.

Spades
I screamed, my entire body tensing, but did my best not to move. That Queenie girl is dead. The pain was incredible, but not unmanageable.

Emily
I wince, only imagining the pain. Everything together, i quickly fuse the bone as best as i could. I cool it, make her knee go numb from the pain but am careful not to prove my name true. I remove my hand and Kim comes up, helps me to a chair.

Spades
"Thanks" I breath, eyes closing. My face was still barely bleeding, but it was nothing compared to that. "Are you alright?"

Speedy
"Who did this to her?" I ask, turning to Kim
