the masquerade

Rosalie: I blushed and sipped my champagne. The orchestra started to play a waltz, and people began flocking to the dance floor.

Aidan: I lean back against the wall. "You look lost."

Quiterie: "Yes, I suppose I am." I frowned. "Have you been to one before?" My accent wasn't thick, but it was there.

Emerson: "Would you like to dance?" I asked, offering her her hand.

Rosalie: "Why, yes, thank you." I said, and took his hand. He led me to the floor, and he grabbed my waist. I placed my hand on his shoulder, and we began to dance to the three four time music.

Aidan: I shake my head. "My first as well. I don't really get invited to things like this. Do you?"

Emerson: We spun and dipped, every movement was drowned in grace. I adjusted my grips and smiled. "You're a great dancer," I smiled.

Kit: I shook my head. "Usually, my older sister does. She goes to a ton of these parties." Secretly, I had always been jealous of her, now that I was here, I was relieved.

Aidan: The sister of a socialite. "Do you want anything to drink?"

Rosalie: "You're quite the dancer yourself" I said, smiling. I wonder what the papers would say. Or even more, my mother. He was wealthy, indeed, and he was a businessman. He would bring a lot to the family. And I kind of liked him. Yes, I think I do like him. I would like to see him again. He was quite charming.

Kit: I shook my head. "I want to remember this and even a few drinks will ruin my chance. I'm a bit of a lightweight." I blushed and looked down, smoothing out my dress.

(Score one for Emerson.)

Emerson: "Thanks," I smiled. On the last dip, we went lower than anyone. I pulled her back up and paused. If we got together, I didn't have family to impress, so my life was easier in that sense. i din't need to prove anything.

Rosalie: I noticed he dipped me quite low toward the end. I blushed. The papers will definitely notice that. But actually, I don't care. Mother will more than likely approve. The papers needed something new.

Emerson: I took her hand leading her to the spot where we had been speaking before. I let go and smiled. "Anything to drink?" I asked. I didn't believe in courting... Flirting, while not approved of, was easier.

Rosalie: "another champagne, please." I said blushing. One more after this, and then I'll probably cut off the drinking. Mother would be mad if I came home drunk.

Bump?

Emerson: I grabbed one cup, for her, and nothing for me. I handed it to her with a smile. "There you go."

Rosalie: I smiled. "Thank you." I said, and took a sip, looking over the rim with a sly smile.
