The shaking starts again under his touch. Ami turns and looks at the familiar boy. Her face is blank as her smile fades. She drops the bullet and her fingers trace her lips, as if wondering where it went. They pause as she looks into his eyes, her own collecting tears, her arms go around him quietly. "W-What...am I...?"

Cricket stiffened, then softened in her arms. "You're a person. Like Sparrow, like Milo, like Jess an' Emily an' Finn and me. A'right? You don't need to fight to prove that."

"What's a...person? What's the difference between me as a person and...and him as a person? And Wisp as a person...? I don't...understand...the differences..." The tears roll down her cheeks and she lets a sob out as she pulls him closer. This familiar stranger. The name comes. "C-Cricket, what's the difference...?"

Cricket paused a moment. That question sounded familiar, somehow...he subconciously traced over the letters scarred into his neck. "A person...is someone who feels, who can think...and acts on their own. They each come from different worlds, backgrounds, and they feel differently, and make their own decisions...that's what makes them different." He paused in thought. "Some people try to tell you who you are, how you ought to be, who you will be forever on. Sometimes you can't believe them. You've just got to be you."

"Be me..." She sits back and lets him go, numbness overcoming her. She curls up and looks back at Red Wing blankly. "I'm...Ami. But I'm also Ayakashi... I'm a weapon whose also a person. I'm guilty and yet I preach innocence..."

"Free," she answers immediately. "I want to be free. My own...being making my own choices. No more of them...no more expectations." She hesitantly uncurls and crawls over to Red Wing, looking down upon him emotionlessly. "Where do i rate to you? Would i be a success? A complete failure?"

Red Wing looked coldly up at her, gasping a little. Each breath hurt. She'd been a success, more powerful than he'd hoped, and maybe that was why she was such a danger. He didn't say anything, though, just looked at her, then to Wisp, then to the boy. Cricket returned the glance coldly.

Ayakashi would have done this, not Ami. She looked between him and Wasp, unsure. All was Ayakashi. Her hand strayed to his chest. She felt things shift that weren't supposed to. Her eyes went to his as she aligned some of his ribs fusing the bone back together. She looked to Wisp, knowing she couldn't fix that damage. "You're going to kill her now, aren't you? Because she's useless now..."

Red Wing breathed and sat up, then looked to Wisp. "Perhaps, if we can't find a different use for her."

What use did she have, paralyzed? She didn't have one to these people. Ami stood silently. "I don't...want this. No more..."
"Com...passion..." Wisp gave a breathy laugh. "What's it feel like?" She snarled.
"It hurts." Ami went to Cricket and helped him up. "It all hurts."
Wisp smiled bordered on crazed. "Remember what they said? Pain...let's you know you're alive."
Ami went for the door. "Yes, Sister. I remember."

Cricket flashed Red Wing and Wisp one last look before heading out the door and slipping down the halls.

Once they were gone, Red Wing took out his radio once again. His voice was raspy. "Don't let them get away," he murmered.

Ami blinked away tears silently. She laces her arm around his, leaning against his shoulder, seeking some form of comfort. "Thank you...Cricket. And...I'm sorry...you had to see me that way..."

"I can't see how..." She lets him go again and blushes, though she doesn't know why. They round the corner and Mo flies to her quickly. She gives a small smile to him. "I'm...alright...I think..."
Jess full on glomped her. "Ami! Oh mi gosh it sounded so scary..."
Sarah looked up at her. "...Sorry. I shouldn't have-"
"No. I needed that reminder. Don't be sorry," Ami said.
