Claire: I rolled my eyes, and began to do the pottery assignment. This wasn't over, but I didn't want to torment her.

Elliot started on her vase, letting the gooey muddy clay slide between her fingers and into a thin neck. She couldn't help but feel a mixture of pleasure and guilt wash over her as she thought of Kayden.

Claire: What I had learned that it was best to kill people with kindness. This morning I had mostly gotten my anger out with my comment when we passed the two. Maybe if I was civil then this could go smoothly, though hopefully Kayden would feel guilty. I was still manipulative, under my good girl surface.

Kayden hopped out of his shower, towel around his waist and shaking the water out of his shaggy hair. It was still damp as he pulled on some shorts and a shirt and walked outside. He'd completely forgotten all the awful drama in football, and it had all come back to him in the shower, when his mind was back in normal mode, not super intense training mode. He already had the scholarship for Ivy League, but he still practiced.
He went onto the court and began to play some basketball with his buddies, waiting for Elliot.

Elliot let out a long breath when she left the art room, walking outside and spotting Kayden. She slowed her walk and smiled at him from across the common. I started a little faster, noticing one of the boys nudging his shoulder and I couldn't tell if it was good or bad.

Claire: I walked past the basketball court, just to see that Kayden and Elliot were about to talk. I couldn't help but feel bad all over again. I pointedly went up to one of his friends and started up a conversation, a little flirtiness apparent.

Kayden grinned at her. He'd seen Claire leave from the came room.
"How was it? Dreadful? Hell?" he teased lightly.
He had noticed a few other guys from the football team looking at Elliot in a flirty way, so when she got to him, he laughed recklessly and bent down to kiss her lips.
"Football was nice," Kayden murmured.

Elliot shrugged, kissing him back a little bit and pulling away. "Relatively quiet. She didn't bother me much," she said, noticing her go straight for one of Kayden's friends. I was a little irritated, but didn't feel the right to be, so I smiled at him instead. It was nice in a way, spending all this time with him.

Claire: As soon as I saw them kissing I quit talking to the guy, feeling my lower lip wobble. He was already going public with her?! Did any of his friends think it was weird he had two girlfriends in two days?! Sam, Kylie, and I walked off the court, and I didn't bother looking his way, afraid I'd cry.

(Lol, okay, did Emerson ever reply back.)

Kayden smiled happily.
"Glad to hear. I'd think she'd be a bit of a witch . . . even though Claire's usually nice, that sort of stuff brings out the worst in people."
Looking over, he caught Claire walking away from Braden, his best guy friend, and Braden looking pretty proud of himself. Claire looked like she was ready to cry. Confused, Kayden drew the conclusion that Braden was teasing her.
"Word spreads fast here," Kayden looked back at Elliot and took her hand, "want to go to the bench area with me?"

Claire: I went straight to the camp office and requested to make a call. "Hi, Daddy...Yeah, it's me, Claire...yeah, I'm doing okay, I guess..." My voice cracked, and Daddy knew something was up. "No, maybe it's not okay...I'm, uh, home sick," I lied. I didn't like to talk to Daddy about relationship problems and boys. "What? Why not?...Three days...Fine. Love you, bye." He told me to tough it out, because him and Mommy weren't home. Ugh.

Elliot paused and then nodded, taking his hand and walking to the bench area. I looked at him for a long moment and then frowned. "Whats wrong with Claire?" I asked.

Kayden shrugged.
"It's obviously because she caught her boyfriend making out with her new camp friend. Well, ex boyfriend, and ex friend," he sighed.
Even though he'd realized him and Claire weren't meant for a real relationship, he missed her as a friend. He'd hoped that they could still be buddies, at least, since they used to be friends before they dated. Kayden looked down and then back at Elliot, and for the millionth time that day, was reassured he made the right choice.
"I think I should talk to her."

Kayden kissed her lips, enjoying their sweet tang. He was starting to really fall in love with Elliot. He brushed back her hair behind her ear and got up, searching for Claire.
He found her in a sort of deserted place, the phone area.
"Claire? Can we talk?"

Elliot nodded. "Do whatever you need to," she said, understandingly. She smiled and little squeezing his hand once and letting him walk away toward toward a distraught Claire. I smiled a little before a breeze picked up a little and carried a few strainds of my hair into my face.

Claire: I whirled around, startled by his voice, and hung up the phone. I rubbed my arms nervously. "There's nothing left to talk about," I said calmly, my expression blank. No iciness, but no unfriendliness. Guarded. That was a good word for it.

Kayden shook his head slowly.
"We're just going to leave it like this, forever?"
He kept the distance between them plentiful, and put his hands in his pockets.
"I was hoping that maybe . . . we could still be buddies, at least."
