What Is Left After?

Aimery: "Yeah, well, we all make mistakes," I say, glancing at the cameras again.

Joseph: "Okay, move out of the way. This'll take a few tries. Let's just hope I can throw it quick enough."

Jelsa: "And we're going to run out?"

Roxanne: I gladly moved away from the door, still feeling a little guilty about all of this.

Wayne: "Let's just go with it, yeah."

Aimery: I step back, wincing as the lights go off again. Suddenly I see a head disappear behind a rack and curse. "Okay, skip the swinging, Joseph."

Joseph: I look back at her, confused, when a gunshot richochets off the rack. "Oh fuck," I mutter, swinging it once and cursing again when it only spiderwebs the glass. Then I duck as another gunshot sounds.

Roxanne: I immediately ducked, and cursed under my breath after I did so. I dug my knife out of my pocket, just in case I had the opportunity to use it.

Jelsa: I let out a squeak and hid.

Joseph: The fire stops for a second and I jump up, grabbing the rack and swinging it again. I curse as a bullet hits me in the arm, but the window breaks, and I yell at them to hurry.

Aimery: I throw the stupid cash register at them, and it hits one of them in the face. His face turns red, and before I know what's happening, there's a long gash in my stomach. I fall to the ground, cursing. "Joseph!"

Jelsa: "Are we running?!"

Joseph: I turn back, cursing. "Oh, just go!" I yell. I knew I had a gun, somewhere in my pack. I knew it, but even when I emptied it, there was nothing. Nothing.

Aimery: I kick upward, hitting him in the nuts, and he crumples to the floor. I've only crawled a few feet when he grabs my boot, pulling me back.

Roxanne: As I went to run through the broken door, I was hit in the right shoulder by a bullet, but I ignored the pain somehow, and yelled, "Yes, we are!!" I paused when I looked at Aimery, "Help her out!" I ordered, since I couldn't myself with one arm.

Jelsa: I followed everyone.

Wayne: Someone was grabbing Aimery, and I hit him. "Go!" I yelled at her.

Aimery: Someone distracted him for a second, and I got a good aim at his face. He slumped back, and for a second I thought I'd killed him, until he groaned. Ignoring the pain in my stomach, I get up, running for the door.

Joseph: I curse, throwing the useless pack to the ground. I watch as Aimery stumbles out and gather up everything, running for the hotel.

Wayne: I used my bag to swing at the guy's head, then ran off.

Roxanne: "So much for the new jacket." I grumbled to myself as I ran back to the hotel with everybody else. I ignored the insistent burning in my shoulder.

Jelsa: "Where do we go now?"

Aimery: I collapse on the couch, wincing.

Joseph: I close the door tightly, then shrug off my jacket and rip off a part of my shirt, tightening it around my arm like a tourquinet. "Okay, who's hurt?"

Roxanne: "I am." I answered, biting my lower lip hard, trying to think about anything else. I took off my jacket with one hand, keeping from moving my right arm or shoulder too much.

Joseph: I walk over, sitting her down gently. "Where?"

Roxanne: "Right shoulder." I imagined that the back of my shirt was starting to get soaked.

Joseph: I cough. "Well, you're going to have to take that shirt off."

Roxanne: I sighed, none too happy with that idea, but I knew it had to be done. "Fine." I said before I took it off, wincing when I did so. I was in too much pain to be modest, or care, really.

Joseph: I shake my head, ripping off another piece of my shirt, making sure it's long enough to wrap around this time. "This one looks harder to fix than anyone elses."

Aimery: I sit up, not really caring who's watching, and pull up my shirt, revealing my stomach. After a moment of staring at the gash, I rip a pillow and dab at it with the cotton.

Roxanne: "I probably deserve it." I mumbled so quietly I could barely hear myself. I closed my eyes, my teeth clenched together each time a spike of pain washed through in tandem with my heartbeat.

Joseph: I frown. "Why?" I ask, dabbing at it lightly.
