What Is Left After?

"Same way I get lots of stuff. Didn't you know that every person in England is magical?" I reach into one of my pockets and draw out a glass jar. "I kid, obviously. I just preserved it in honey. Did you know that the Pharoahs of ancient Egypt were buried with honey, and it's still edible?"

(Um...anywhere I can jump in at the moment?)

(Sure, we're still at the grocery store.)

Aimery: I raise an eyebrow, amused at his choice of words. "The mummies of Egypt are still edible? Is there something you need to tell me?"

"Er... yeah. I eat dead people." I stop for a moment and then suddenly switch to semi-serious mode. "Of course not! I was talking about the honey. Although... Ever eaten a mummy?"

Roxanne: I wandered the nearly abandoned streets, vaguely aware of my boots clicking on the pavement. I hadn't eaten for more than three days, and despite my judgment, I decided to find a grocery store, or gas station, although I figured that someone was bound to be there. I frankly didn't care anymore as I finally stumbled upon a store with a broken window. I made sure no one would be able to see me from the inside as I peeked in, wincing at the slight scuffling of my shoes.

Aimery: I laugh at him. "No, never thought about it. Although there was this group of people who used to grind the remains and use it as medicine."

Joseph: I smile, amused at their conversation until I look up, hearing another person. Like a routine, I glance at Peter. "Another one, huh? You must be superbly handsome, Peter."

"I told you, Joe - do you ind if I call you Joe? - it's all down to my incredibly sexy sideburns. Chicks just can't handle the awesomeness of facial hair." I laugh. "Yeah. That joke's starting to wear thin, isn't it?"

Roxanne: I grimaced as I heard what the guy said. So much for trying to be sneaky. My face flushed with embarrassment. I reluctantly stepped into view, scratching the back of my neck nervously with a sheepish smile on my lips. "I really didn't mean to intrude...but too late for that now, huh?"

Aimery: I shrug. "I don't know. I think it's more of your confidence than the facial hair."

Joseph: I smirk at Aimery. "No, they called me that before..." I tilt my head towards the opening and the new person. "I swear I don't have any food, but you can have some water if you'd like."

"Goodness, it's a veritable party here, isn't it? What's your name?"

Roxanne: I was quite surprised that I wasn't chased out or anything. "Wow, thanks." I said with a slightly more confident smile. I turned to the Britain, "I'm Roxanne, and you guys are?"

Aimery: I look her over, not really wanting to answer that.

Joseph: "I'm Joseph."

Roxanne: I smiled politely, "Nice to meet you, despite the circumstance." I added, not really sure how to respond actually.

"My name's Peter." I say. "Pleased to meet you."

((By the way, my character is an accurate portrayal of me, complete with bad/bizarre/creepy jokes.))

Joseph: I shrug, smiling to lighten the mood. "I wish I could say the same."

(Ah...fun! )
Roxanne: I nodded my head slightly. I still felt odd around strangers, I mean, one of them might as well go on a rampage with an ax at any second, but maybe that was just me being paranoid. I frowned just slightly at the other guy's comment, but I said lightly, "I can understand that, with how things are now and all."

"Oh thanks! Glad to know I'm appreciated." My words practically drip sarcasm.

Joseph: I nod. "I did invite you to some water, though. Not sure how fresh it may be, since there are no calenders. But Aimery seemed to like it."

Aimery: I glance up at my name, then glare at Joseph. So much for being invisible. "Hi," I say, putting on a sickly sweet smile.

Roxanne: Of course, I had to screw something up...naturally. I smiled back at Aimery, although I could tell she was faking it. "Hey." I glanced at Joseph, and then the others, feeling not very welcome, and I was just about ready to bolt out the door...after I got some water, or things got sticky. "Thanks again...I think I'll help myself to your offer." I said as I went, and found an empty bottle in the store, which I filled with water.

(Hm, I'm mean. That's surprising.)

Aimery: I smile. She was already jumpy. Of course, I should probably be nice, since I didn't belong here either, but at least I had confidence.

Joseph: "Don't worry. I'm pretty sure no one'll hurt you." I turn to Aimery. "Right?"

Aimery: I just give him a shrug, not answering as I slumped to the ground against the wall. Let them make their own assumptions.

"I won't hurt you if you don't hurt me. Well, not on purpose." I stop and stare into space. "I'm kinda clumsy, though."

(Surprising?)
Roxanne: Why was I acting like this? I used to be so sure of myself until all of this happened, and then...the old me just disappeared. I returned to the group after filling the bottle, and I smiled a little at what Peter said. I wasn't going to be so nervous, or a push-over anymore. (brb, sorry.)

(For the longest time I thought it was just because everyone around me was an ass. XD)

Aimery: I follow her movements, taking out my own waterbottle again. What would I do after I got out of here?
