I smiled back again.

"Unfortunately," I told him, "I never make the first strike."

Zakarai:
"Very well" I say. I then lunge forward with my blade and say, "Altarist". Lightning sparks from my sword blade at Peter's chest.

Peter

I dodged to the side, narrowly missing the lightning. Okay, wasn't expecting that... I reached into my pocket, grabbing a handful of magnesium. I tossed it into the air, closing my eyes and willing it to ignite.

Zakarai:
I cover my eyes and grimace at the bright white light. I rub my eyes and hiss, "Petulant brat!" I then say, "Wiktu" Ice shards shoot out of the floor to try and defend myself while I am blinded.

((Peter wasn't setting Zakarai on fire; he was setting the magnesium on fire. He was only tossing the stuff in the air, you know. If he'd wanted to set Zakarai on fire, he would've.

Do you know what magnesium does when you light it up?))

"Whoah!" I did my best to avoid the ice shards, but one of them sliced my arm. Gritting my teeth, I made for the door. It was behind him, but I'd still have a few seconds before he'd be able to see properly again.

Zakarai:
As my vision cleared I saw the boy trying to escape. "Oh no you don't" I say. I then run after him.

Peter

I glanced behind me and pressed on harder. Make it to the door, make it out into the rest of the castle, figure out how the hell to navigate without getting caught, escape and hide.

Good plan.

Now, if I can make it before he tries to use magic again...or whatever he was doing...

Zakarai:
"Entrim!" I bark. SLAM! The door at the end of the hall slams shut. "I've got you know" suddenly I feel very weak. No, damn it! I think, I expended too much magic! I can only use my blade now, if I use anymore magic I could do harm to myself.

Peter

I skidded to a stop as the door slammed shut in front of me. Great. I turned on my heel, glaring at the guy and trying to plan my next move. This...was not looking good. Casting my hands out, I tried to set the man on fire.

Zakarai:
I sighed with relief he seemed to favor fire type attacks. I smirked and said, "As a dragon rider I am fire proof, it comes with the dragon"

Peter

"Good to know," I said. "Funny, being fireproof is something we have in common. Looks like I'll have to try other tactics, then." I concentrated for a moment, switching from fire to wind. I whipped my hand forward, hurling a burst of wind at him.

Violet nods slowly. "Yes. That would make sense." She turns to Rose. "Do you promise to behave?"
Rose doesn't make an audible answer, but Violet seems satisfied. Rose unfreezes and melts momentarily into a mist which encircles Liz and reforms next to her.

Liz nodded curtly at Rose in a form of greeting. "Hello," she said coldly. Andrew watched Rose, making sure she didn't try to harm Liz.

Zakarai:
I hold my blade in front of me trying to keep my feet on the floor and endure the tempest. "I will not be deafeated!" I yell.

Peter

"Ah, but I'm not really trying to win," I told him, shooting off another blast. "All I really want to do is get out!"

Zakarai:
I am blown back. I hit a wall and pass out. All I can think before I pass out is, May you be eternally damned

((Condog, is the door locked or merely shut?))

(Just shut. I'm gonna say Zakarai only had enough strength to close it not lock it. Also I am gonna say that he was fighting rebels earlier that day and that's why his magic was so depleted)

Rose looks Liz up and down. "I can see why Andrew likes you," she purrs. Violet rests her head on the palm of her hand and sighs.

"Thanks," said Liz, turning slightly pink. Andrew rolled his eyes, Liz was so naive. This girl was sweet-talking her.

Artemis sighed and kept thinking about Ezra. Why did she break the spell was it good that she broke it? Maybe she should have kept it and ran away with him. Artemis sighed and felt tears.

Violet waggles her eyebrows at Andrew to get his ettention, and mimes punching something repeatedly.
The ice starts steaming at Liz's feet, and Rose paces around her.
