Elements of Fate

Mirissa: I hesitated, "Just a bad dream." A horrible dream, a nightmarish memory. I moved closer to him, needing the touch. Needing to forget for a moment.

Nick: I wrapped my arms around her. "Its okay, your safe now. I wont let anything hurt you."

Mirissa: I let out a thankful sigh, "I believe you, thank you." I relaxed in his hold.

Nick: I held her in my arms and kissed her forehead.

Mirissa: I closed my eyes. His face kept flashing through my mind. Some wounds heal, but those of a stolen childhood are hard to lose. I tried to make the face go away by picturing Nick. I drifted back to sleep with a smile.

Tristin: I looked at Nick and Mirissa and stuck out my tongue. Gross!

Aeon smiled. "Well, you know, little things, like lending someone money, stuff that's expected of you. But healing someone is..." He sighs.

Nick: i held her while she slept. I watched triston with his candy. How much had that kid ate? He stuck out his tongue and laughed. I motioned for him to come over.

Tristin: I thought about it for a minute and shrugged. I jumped over next to them and plopped myself down on the couch.

Christy smiled, "So you dont like healing people?"

Nick: I whispered to triston, "You know, one day your going to have a girlfriend." i loved it when kids got all freaked out over this stuff.

Tristin: I shook my head hard. "Never, all that junk is gross!"

Aeon gave her a weak smile. "Should I?"

Christy: I smiled,"Well it seems like you should like your power. I always loved nature. Im guessing the others were always fascinated by fire or water or maybe there power fit them. Are you sure you just heal? Or can you do more?"

Wait i messed up before<---- i said he could control water and that wasnt revealed yet!

Nick: I laughed, "I thought that when i was your age too, but look at me now!"

Aeon shrugs. "Either way, I'm fine with being normal. It's not like I asked for this."

Christy: "True...i wondor why we have them."

Aeon smirks. "Maybe because our lives have just been so damn boring up til now."

"I have seen you," He scrunched up his nose. "Its gross." Tristin glanced to where Mirissa was sleeping. "She really likes you though."

Mirissa: I felt my dreams shift again, not to the usual memory though.

I cower in the corner of the empty room. Tears slipped down my cheeks. Why did I try to run away, I knew better. I gingerly ran my hand down the new bruises and burns. He punished disobedience, and I kept disobeying. When would I learn? I trembled as I heard the door open. I squeezed my eyes shut unable to look, knowing it would be him.

Nick: "Really?" i asked. No one had ever really Liked me before. I was always the nobody.

Tristin: I nodded reluctenly, "Yeah, I can see it in how she felt safe with you."

Mirissa:
"Are you alright?" Came a voice and I opened my eyes slowly. That wasn't his voice. A women sat infront of me, FBI written across her jacket. Tears streaming down my cheeks I nodded.
"It's over honey, we found you."

Nick: I listened to her slow breathing. "Yeah i guess she does..."

Mirissa:

Tears streamed down my cheeks as the women picked me up and took me outside. Lights flashed and people shouted questions as she led me away from the room. The women's kind face was the last thing I saw before I fainted.

I woke suddenly, and stared into space. It had been so long ago that that had happened. Yet the memory was as crystal clear as the day it happened.
