"ARGH!" I exclaimed, slapping my hands to my face and gritting my teeth.

All of a sudden...it was a splitting pain in my head, concentrated mostly around my eye sockets...and it felt like someone was driving kitchen knives into where my eyes had been. After several seconds, the pain eased off. I breathed a sigh of relief.

Blink.

Blink, blink.

"Eyes!" My eyes were back! "...But...I still can't see anything..."


((For the record, his eyes don't look that light-blue, blind color; they're his normal, brown eyes.))

Cricket
"No, you can't," I said tauntingly, widening my smile to match hers.

Marley
"Yes I..." I started, practically grinning now. Then Peter said something, and my head snapped to his direction "What?! Maybe they're just coming back a little at a time?!"

Cricket
"Waitwhatpardon? Eyes? Eyes! Woot! Aye, maybe they just grow back gradually." I looked back at Marley. "And no you can't!"

Marley
"Don't test me, Cricket White..." I warned, officially grinning now "Yes. I. Can"

Peter

"Er, yeah, maybe..." I said.

Well...this was a start. And at least I didn't have that horrible empty feeling behind my eyelids anymore.

Cricket
"Ha! Gotcha t' smile," I said smugly, grinning myself. "As for you, Peter, that's a relief. I was getting worried." I turned back to Marley. "Yes you can~~!"

Marley
I threw a pillow at his head, fiening irritation but still smiling on the inside "You filthy rotten crook" I accused teasingly, then looked at peter "I'm sure you'll have sight in no time"

Cricket
I caught the pillow with my face. Well, more like it bounced off of my face and fell into my hands. "Why yes I am!" I said, as if it were a great compliment. " 'Course, in th' process I smiled myself, so in a way, I lost too. So HA! And damn you." I threw the pillow back at her.

Marley
I dodged it, looking hurt "I'm not quite sure I believe in hell, but what if you just doomed me to all of eternity in it beacuase of a flippant remark?!" Because THAT would be why I would go to hell... riiiight....

Cricket
"Then you'll always 'ave something t' remember me by," I said with a grin. "And I'll see you there."

Marley
"I'm sure you will" I chuckled "Maybe we can pickpocket the devil while we're down there..."

Peter

I snorted, one of the corners of my mouth twitching up in a slight grin. Those two could be so crazy...but they made me actually show some signs of joy. So I wasn't complaining.

Cricket
"You can count on it. Wonder what 'e keeps in 'is pockets." I picked up another pillow and threw it at her. "No fair dodging that last one." I pricked up. "Did you just snort?"

Marley
"I dunno, like, souls and all those left socks that go missing in the dryer?" I guessed, catching the pillow and tossing at it his face "And I think he did!"

Cricket
I caught the pillow this time. "Huh. I was thinking more like, souls and Peter's smile. Although apparently th' devil gives that back every now and then." I looked to Peter. "I didn't 'ear it well th' first time. Snort again!"

Peter

"Ah, well you have to do something funny for that to happen," I said with a slight, wry grin.

Cricket
"Oi my my. Well, you're asking a lot there, as I usually only do funny things accidentally! O' course, I could try t' be funny, but that would be as bad as th' 'eart attack. You don't want t' see that. Unless..." I looked to Marley. "Are you willing t' die for th' sake o' comedy?"

Marley
"Ah... only if you think that my ghost haunting you for the rest of your sorry life would be hilarious, too" I said, wondering where he was going with this "But if it will make Peter laugh... sure, why not?" Actually, I could think of a thousand reasons 'why not', but I doubted he'd really kill me

Ezra

"Even though I think if I had a choice of who was haumting me, Marley would be hilarious, lets not kill anyone." I said, throwing a weak smile.

Cricket
"Oh, please. You honestly think I could kill anyone, honestly? I was referring t' Marley's last-minute awkward evasion, a few pages back."

Ezra

"No, I really don't think you could." I said, smiling. "I kinda just zone'd out for a few."

T.Mor:

I watched the events unfold in awkward silence. It was nice to see Peter actually having a smile on his face. "Erm...I...I dunno that more death..even fake death...I dunno that that...that that would be a good thing right now..." I stated. I was not in the mood to deal with more...deadness. Even if it was of the hilarious variety.

Ezra

"We don't need anyone else dying," I agreed, shaking my head.

Marley
"Fine... good point. Herm... what if we went up to people we generally disliked and starting poking them repeatedly?"
