Daggerhorn..

(me- -.- *jumps on your back* piggy back ride!!!!!)

"Oh!" The healer gasped and ran in, helping Sam up and to the bed. "Oh my." She said as she began to tend to him.

The men kept walking, one telling her he'd get him and walking back. "I'm alright Artemis. I'm coming. I promise. I'm coming." James said as he tried to pick his step up, but collapsed, passing out.

((*grins* Okay! *begins running around*)

Josie made soft whimpering sounds as she got as close as she could without being in the way.

"James!" Artemis continues to struggle, the wound opening up and blotching her dress red . Another pain racked her stomach and ran down her legs, causing her to crumple in pain and cease her stuggles "james" she whimpered

(cracks up laughing and falls over* Sorry! *keeps laughing*))

Sam was unconcious again as the woman cleaned his wounds that had opened again and bandaged him up. She then cleaned the ones she couldn't bandage and looked at Josie. "I don't know where you came from." She said with a slight disaproving look. "But it's good you did. He's getting a fever."

A man picked James up and carried him towards the tent, following after Artemis. The man carrying Artemis sat her on a bed and the healers shoed him out and went to work, fixing her up. A little while later the man carrying James walked in and set him on the ground and out of the way.

Josie looked up, worry striking her eyes. She hopped on the bed next to him and gave the healer a look that obviously said, what do I do?

Artemis sat staring straight ahead, her eyes as empty as her stomach. She barely stirred when they brought james in, too lost in her grief "help him... please" she whispered, tears spilling over

The healer sighed and gave a slight shrug. "there isn't much we can do except let him ride it out." She said and looked back at Sam, patching some herbs onto the wounds.

"You first dear, then we'll tend to the wolf." Said the healer.

Josie felt a tear fall onto her paw as she nodded and laid her head on his chest after the healer was done.

The healer sighed. "I'll be back in a few hours to check on him." She said and left. Brandon laid there unconcious, his skin warmer than usual.

Artemis nodded and slipped out of the bed awkwardly, crawling over to james and curling up next to him, her tears soaking his fur

The healers frowned and picked her back up and put her on the bed, then went back and grabbed James and set him beside her. "Now you have to hold still so we can fix this." They said as they set to work.

Gto 1 HR

Artemis burried her face in James's neck, quickly succumbing to the pain and falling into darkness

The healers made quick work of Artemis, after they had gotten the major things taken care of. They then went on to care for the wolf. "I don't see what's so important about this creature." The one healer woman grumbled. "I think it should be killed along with the rest."

As if hearing her word, artemis gripped him tighter in her sleep, refusing to let go

James woke the next morning with Artemis by his side. He looked at her, nudging her face gently. That's when he realized something. He was human again. The air was warmer.

Artemis stirred, her hair falling to revel her pasty, drawn features. Her eyes fluttered open and she quickly squeezed them shut, tightening her hold on james

James wrapped his arms around her, holding her gently. His body was riddled with claw marks, though he seemed to not notice. He brushed the hair from her face and sighed. "How are you feeling?"

"Empty" Artemis replied, her tone reflecting her words

James's eyes tightened and he kept his arm around her. "I'm sorry." he murmered feeling as though it was his fault. He hadn't been able to protect her. So in a way, it was his fault.

Artemis burried her head in his side "s'not your fault" she sobbed. It was hers. She wasn't able to keep the baby. In her village the husband had the right to divorce her now. She was useless. She grimaced, waiting for James to say the inevitable

James sighed hiding a slight wince. "No, I should have been able to protect you. If it hadn't been for the wolf it would have been fine. I'm so sorry Artemis." He held her close, rubbing her back.
