ignoring the pain, Artemis pulled away in confusion, "stop saying that" she demanded, her voice pleading

James watched her and then sighed and nodded. "alright." he murmered.

Mowing took longer than I thought...ill be one for the night after I take a shower XD

Artemis fell silent, her hand fluttering to her stomach. "it was a boy... they told me it was a boy..." she chocked, her voice cracking

James's heart broke and he pulled her closer, kissing her head gently. "We'll try again." he murmered, trying to make it better, not that he could really make it better. He was having a hard time coming to grips with it himself.

Artemis began to sob, falling limp in his arms. That's all she could do- just sob. She failed as a mother. why was james still being so kind?

Josie woke next to Sam and slowly sat up. Her eyes snapped open and she looked at her hands, her thin pink, furless hands. She let out a little giggle then remembered Sam and broke off. She put a hand to his forehead. "Sam?"

Sam let out a muffled groan, opening his eyes slightly before letting them slid shut again, his skin was now burning up.

James held her close, rubbing her back, gently shushing her sobs.

Worried Josie ran from the tent straight to the healers. Ignoring everyone else in the tent she grabbed on of the healers. "Sam has a really bad fever." She said as an explination(sp) and tried dragging the healer out of the tent.

The healer looked at her and sighed following her with a slight frown on her face. As she entered the tent she went over to the boy, felt his head, and then mixed a few herbs into a past. "Put this on his forehead along with a cool rag. I have to go tend to the others in the camp. A lot of people were hurt." she sighed and left.

Artemis's sobs finally settled and pulled away and wiped her nose miserably "why are you still here?" she whispred

Josie stuck her tongue out at the lady's back and did as she was told.

Sam stayed asleep, though it was restless.

James looked at her. "Why wouldn't i be here?" He asked looking shocked, a slight hurt filling his face. Did she not want him anymore?

"I l-lost the baby" she sobbed, as if the answer was obvious "why are you still here" she repeated, confused

"Because I love you, Artemis. Nothing you could ever do could get me to leave you. Ever. And loosing the baby wasn't your fault." James ran a hand through her hair.

Artemis stared at him in confusion, sobbs raking her body "I'm so sorry" she whimered, pulling him back to her

"For what? You haven't done anything wrong." James said with a sigh as he held her close.

Lark stirred a little, waking to see Colton looking at Sariah's sleeping form. He chuckled and gently lifted the baby into his arm, careful as to not wake Sariah.

Colton staired up at him with bright, wide blue eyes and then sneezed. Sariah stirred slightly at the sneeze, but didn't wake.

Artemis cried for some time more before finally finding in her to pull herself back together.. kinda. "are you okay?" she murmured, fingering his wounds

Lark grinned and dangled a finger above him. "Hello Colton. " he whispered.

Colton looked back up at him, grabbing his finger with strong, but small hands. He just stared at him with his mouth hanging open slightly, then a small smile came to his face.

James wiped the tears from her cheeks with his thumb and nodded, keeping back any winces that threatened to escape. "Of course." He murmered and kissed her forehead.

"you're human" Artemis stated, still trying to find it in herself to feel something other then empty
