"No," I answered. "But you do? That's fascinating... Is that something everyone does in your universe?" I wanted to learn more about this internet worship.

Cricket
What do you do? There's a stranger in front of you on the brink of tears over some past event that you know nothing about. Common sense said walk away, but...and if he were anything like me he'd want be alone anyway, but...but...oi my my. Now I knew why people couldn't just leave you alone when you're hurting. Because, well, then you'd be alone and...aye. Guilt factor. Awkward factor.

I thought back to prison, and what happened after. Bad choice; it was a stab in the gut to think about. but for some reason I chose it anyhow. I'd been hurting...the last thing I wanted was some stranger there. But hey...it was a stranger that eventually helped. Just a tiny bit.

"Want t'...wanna go outside, or something?"

Peter

"U-um," I stammered softly, looking at him again, "yeah...sure." I started getting up and turned to Senet. "Allons-y," I said, pointing.

"Okay."

Finn
Memories...I didn't get them. Often literally.

I followed them outside the colorful door, into sunshine. It was...green. And...there was a playground. And a big sky --which wasn't new-- but, where was...

"Where's th' water?" Cricket wondered aloud.

We were a long ways from home.

Peter

"What do you mean?" I asked Cricket, calming down a little. Or...returning to normal...somewhat. What normal was now, anyway...

Cricket
I looked around. Not a canal to be found, let alone an ocean. I couldn't hear it, either...that was...unnerving. There had to be water somewhere. It'd been there my whole life...land without water was like day without sky. "I can't find an ocean," I commented.

Peter

"Um...why is this significant?" I asked, tilting my head to the side slightly. "There are more places that aren't near the water than places that are."

"No, they're from my dad," said Evan, "I'm...I'm not supposed to tell anyone but I trust you...."

Fleep.

Mr.Face:

"Essentially...I mean...You kind of can't live without it. I mean...how else is one suppoused to eat?" It occurred to me that she might not even have an internet wherever she came from. "You do have an internet wherever you come from...Right?"

T.Mor:

Who tells stuff like that to strangers? I mean...I didn't really have anyone else to tell now did I? No. And did I even know for sure that it's wrong enough to tell someone else? No. And why did he trust me? We've known eachother for like...5 minutes? Never trust anyone...Because they'll steal all your stuff and leave you rotting in the cardboard slums. That's why you never answer the door unless they're the guards. "Why?" For some reason...I get bad at talking sometimes. Like...right now.

Evan shrugged, "You trusted me enough to tell me about your mom and dad. So now I'm trusting you enough to tell you about mine. Gh never said I couldn't tell anyone and she brought me here." Evan pushed down his sleeves, recovering the hideous bruises. "But you can't tell...anyone. What do you do for your job?"

"I'm going to go over there...." said Tommy, hoping the boy wouldn't follow. He picked up a couple blocks, trying to spell words. He didn't have much of an education but he finally managed the word A-N-I-M-A-L-S. To anyone who couldn't see him, it looked like the blocks were moving by themselves.

Nike

"Yeah, I have the internet," I told him. "But in my universe, and most universes, you get food by going to the supermarket and buying it. They sell tons of food there."


Leslie

I spotted a little ghost boy and immediately ran over to him. My black, feathery wings were still out, but I didn't otherwise look like a demon.

"What are you doing, kid?!" I hissed. "Can't you see the angel here?! It's not safe for ghosts!"

"Huh?" said Tommy, looking confused. "Oh wow...you have wings! And what do ya mean it's not safe?"

Lyla
I ran over to the demon and the ghost boy. "I'm safe!" I said, "Angels are good!"

"What does that make her then...oh." said Tommy, relizing what Leslie was. He began to cough violently, sputtering up water.

Leslie

"They are not!" I retorted. "Angels kidnap mortal souls and drag them up to Heaven where they sell them as servants and slaves! That's why we demons are at war with them...we're trying to protect humanity!"

"That's not what I heard," coughed Tommy.

Lyla
"But demons are hurting the world and making everyone miserable!" i said, angels protected the souls. "Angels protect people!"

Leslie

"Liar!" I accused. "Angels don't want to help humans! They want to take over the Middle World! Demons fight them to keep them away! We defend mortals!"

"Can't we just all get along?" said Tommy, still coughing a bit.

Leslie

"Demons tried to get along with angels," I said angrily. "The angels refused! Then they started kidnapping and selling mortals up in Heaven!"

"Wait what?!" said Tommy surprised. He didn't know who to believe.

Leslie

"That's what they do, " I said. "They're ruthless and cold, and they only look out for themselves. They don't care about mortals in the least, and they have no regard for mortal well-being."

Tommy shook his head, "I am so confused right now. Who are you?"

Cricket
What? That was...odd. Now that I thought back to it, I didn't think I'd been more than a couple miles away from open ocean my whole life. "Maybe not significant, just...new," I said, looking back at the playground. That was new, too. It looked kinda fun...what was I supposed to do with it?

Finn was already over there heaving himself on top of something that looked like a ladder parallel to the ground. "Are you guys just content talking like that, or are we gonna actually, y'know...play on th' playground?"
