I hadn't really said anything I don't think...Erm...I mean...just that I didn't have any...But...Ok...I thought to myself. "I...Uhm. I Uhm...I work for the government." Ok. Nonanswer. That was good. I liked nonanswers. It kept me from thinking about my job.
Which kept me from thinking about my sister...Which kept me from thinking about my parents.
Crap.
There they were again.
I turned my paper over and started drawing again, not even bothering for a different coloured crayon. Black was fine.

Mr.Face:

It was my turn to ask a question. "What is a supermarket?" I asked, Aware that I should probably go put in the sacrifices for a dictionary when I got home.

"The govenment?! You must be important!" said Evan, his eyes growing wide.

Leslie

"I'm a demon," I said. "I'm training as a Hunter so I can protect humans from angels!"


Peter

Senet and I jogged over to him. It must've been months since we'd seen an actual playground... This place was nice. It was a lot like home, actually. Nothing was covered with glass, and there were no bombs...no guns...

Nike

"It's a place that sells food," I explained, "but they usually carry other stuff, too, like cleaning supplies. They have shelves full of food. You can get it packed, canned, or fresh, depending on which section you're in."

"I've...never heard of that. But then again...I'm not exactly from this time period either." said Tommy, looking down at his ragged third-class clothes.

Mr.Face:

"Wait...no. There's tinned foods...and sometimes freezedried foods. What are you talking about? Expiration dates?" I was especially perplexed by the term 'fresh'. Fresh out of your shrinebox?

((Mr.Face is referring to how things were before he rerouted the drop off point manually...as he's not in charge of Auda yet.))

T.Mor:

I snorted. Important was probably the last thing I was. "You're funny." I muttered, still colouring.

"What do you mean? Do you know the president?!" asked Evan excitedly. (he doesn't know where T. Mor comes from and Evan's "normal")

Nike

"No," I said. "I mean with produce, they pick it off trees or vines or pull it up from the ground, wash it and clean it, ship it to the market, and put it on shelves or in bins."

Finn
I flipped over on the monkey bars so I was hanging by my knees, and grinned at the two newcomers. Then I saw Cricket, who was looking at the structure with a cocked eyebrow and a half-smirk..."What?" I called to him.

"What do I do?"

"You climb on it!"

"Climb on it?" There was a pause. "They make these things just for kids t' climb on 'em?"

"Aye!"

Cricket looked quite perplexed with the idea that he could play on a structure...legally, without risking the danger of trespassing, and he wasn't even stealing anything from the place, either. "...a'right," he said, and bounded over to join me on the monkey bars.

((gh, I figured that. The awkwardness I write is completely intentional.))

T.Mor:

"I'm a guard. One in a million. We're all the same." I explained. It was wierd, because he didn't seem to know what I was talking about at all. "What's a president?" I asked on a lighter note. I had never heard that word before.

Mr.Face:

Oh dear. I didn't know what any of that meant. "Er. Can you...extrapolate?" I asked. "You just used a bunch of words in a sentence that I have never heard before..." I added, for clarity. I felt my teeth click again. Why were they so pointy? I never understood it.

"A guard? I think you have to be...where do you come from?"

Peter

I ran up to the monkey bars, jumped, grabbed hold of a bar, swung my legs forward, and hooked them over the edge all in one smooth set of motions. Rather than hang upside-down like Finn, I pulled myself up on top of the set and proceeded to try to balance on a single bar. I saw Senet joining us. He jumped into the air, landing cleanly on top of the bars.

"Tricheur," I said with a grin. Cheater.

Nike

"Um..." I had to think for a moment how I would explain this. "Are you familiar with how fruits and vegetables are grown?"

Did I just...feel energy? It seemed like, for a split second, someone was using energy. But I could've been mistaken. It didn't seem like anyone around here was a bonder, so I was probably just sensing things.


((Gh, I already said that Tommy isn't near Mr. Face and Nike. They're off in a corner playing with Legos, while you said that Tommy was playing with blocks.))

(I know. He'a with Leslie...and someone else....whose name I cannot think of...*feels bad she can't remember name*)

((Then...what hasn't he heard of? o-o))

T.Mor:

"Auda." I said simply. I continued with my drawing. I think it was a hallway. I didn't know for sure. It was all in black and white.

Mr.Face:

"I'm going to go ahead an say no, based on the fact that I had no idea that those were words." I replied to her with a grin.

(Demons being the good guys...angels being the bad guys...)

"I've never heard of that place..." said Evan frowning.

Nike

"Oh, well..." This was going to be tougher than I'd thought. "What do you usually eat?"

Leslie

"Well, it's the truth," I said, crossing my arms. "And you're not safe as long as you're here. You should move on so you can be alive again as a new person."

"I can do that? I seem to be...err...stuck." said Tommy, coughing a bit.

Mr.Face:

"I eat Tinned corn, Tinned meat, Beans, Tinned fruits, preserved fruits...Melba toast...Erm...If it comes in a can...I've probably tried it." I said. The monastary was great like that, They always had unusual things to eat...Like tinned water chestnuts. Those were excellent."

T.Mor:

"It's a city...Erm. Just 6 hours outside of SInk Pump." I tried to explain.

Cricket
I stopped in my tracks under the bars to watch Peter and Senet. Oi. That's more like it. With a smirk, I made a running jump, clutched a bar with both hands, and used the momentum to swing my legs up through a gap. But instead of stopping there I pushed up, until I was doing a handstand on top of the bars. Something I liked to do on this one building back home, with an old sign pole sticking out its side. I bent in the air until my feet touched the pole, and let go to stand on the bar. My lips curled into an inviting, challenging smirk.

"Showoff," Finn said, still upside down.

Leslie

"Well, yeah," I replied. "You can move on. You just have to...I dunno, do it. I don't know what being a mortal is like because I'm immortal. I'll never have your problem. But all mortals manage the moving on thing somehow. ...Do you have any unfinished business?"

"I'm ten, I drowned, and I'm still here. Do you think I have a clue why?" Tommy asked her.
