--Daycare--

T.Mor:

"Sing? I don't sing...I er...Listen. To...My shrinebox." I said kind of awkwardly. "This song called 'the ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny' came on today and that was cool." I said, remembering the fun.

Nike

"Okay, so you said that Invisimort talks to you while you walk?" I asked. "There's a playground ahead...which is where the source of the power was coming from. It's about fifteen or so feet away, but we're getting closer. There are four boys playing on it. They're all about our age." I continued to talk as we walked.

Cricket
I sighed, my chin sinking lower into my palm. "Aye..."

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Finn flash an encouraging smile. "Well, y'know what they say...just find th' bright side!"

There he went again.


Tickety
"Your...shrinebox?" I cocked an eyebrow at him.

Peter

"What if there's not always a bright side to find?" I asked. "It seems that...for some things...there's no good side at all..."

Mr.Face:

Ok. 15 feet... I'd memorised that distance. 15 feet from my bed to the bathroom. Well...fifteen and three inches I suppouse, If you were being picky. And I could hear them...not well. But I could. The sky though...Was so distracting. "Yeah...She does..." I replied before starting with the clicking. My grip was vicelike on her hand, and I felt as though I should apologise for that. I just kept clicking, however.

T.Mor:

"Yes. My shrinebox..."I said uncertainly. "Erm. Don't you have one?"

Finn
"Well...sometimes y' just 'ave t' look 'arder, in th' right places," I responded. I didn't get how people could mope
around all the time.


Tickety
"Noooo..." I said, putting down my crayon to look at him. "What's a shrinebox?"

T.Mor:

"It's the box with the little screen and door on the front...Probably near your living room...Where you sacrifice things to the internet...and interact with it. Or if you have other technology, you can work with the internet faster because of where it is. You know?" Maybe she called it something different? I was confused.

Nike

His grip on my hand was very tight. He must've been really nervous.

"We're almost there," I said. "About eight more feet."

The brown-haired boy that I'd walked to the daycare center with was here. He saw us, immediately turning his curious brown gaze to Mr. Face. I didn't blame him. But he didn't seem alarmed by the sight; he merely looked intrigued.

"The four boys are all sitting on a structure ahead of us," I went on. "One of them is looking this way. His hair is kinda messy, and his clothes are ragged. There's another boy that looks as dirty as he is. I actually walked to the daycare center with those two, along with another girl. The other two boys on the structure here don't look much better than the first two, but they aren't nearly as dirty."

Cricket
I wondered what Peter was looking at...oh. I cocked my head. Was I seeing this right? I blinked. Yep. He didn't have any eyes...or a nose...I tried not to stare, but curiousity got the best of me. You know that feeling when you see something so odd you have to wonder if you're awake, but at the same time it's intruiging?...Aye.

Mr.Face:

Eight feet. The door of my bedroom to the bathroom. From one end of the bathroom to the other. I knew that distance too. I could hear the structure...Which was a bit of a comfort. And at this range I could hear them breathing, which was also somewhat soothing. Things in space...yes. but...still. Things. Not just the great soundless void that was the sky. I couldn't manage anything more than clicking still. Nike's talking was both informative and helpful...unlike Invisimort, who normally just went on about her cats...or...videogames or something. It was kind of nice.

"No," said Andrew, shaking his head. "You're writer has just made two of you. An older one...and a younger one. You two are the same person...just at different stages in your lives."

"It's kinda like you and me." said Tommy.

"Yeah...it kinda is but we're not the same person...but you should be my age..." sighed Andrew.

Leslie

"Um...but...that doesn't make sense," I said. "It was the year 1749 when she came to get me, and now it's 2011!" Was it? "...Oh, looks like that knowledge of the present she said she was writing for me kicked in... So I'm the one in the future! I get it now... She must be very powerful. But what do you mean 'my writer?'"


Nike

"Who're you?" the brown-haired boy asked curiously as we approached. Then, looking only at me, "You walked with us and the lady with purple in her hair."

"Yeah," I answered. "I'm Nike."

I blinked. "Friend, I 'ave no idea what you're talking about. Where are you from?"

T.Mor:

"I'm from Auda." I Told her, finally looking away from the scary hallway i Was drawing.

Sarah

"Auda?" I asked. Another place I hadn't heard of. "Where's that?"

Tickety
I just nodded. I hadn't heard of that, but I wasn't good with geography..."Oh."

Mr. Face:

"er. I'm Mr. Face..." I finally managed to stop Clicking long enough to respond.

T.Mor:

"Its about 6 hours outside of SInk Pump..." I replied, wondering if this Was going to be like talking to that kid about the president again. Because that Was wierd.

Finn
Mr. Face. That was ironic. "Why are you clicking?"

Sarah

"And, um, where's SInk Pump?" I asked. What a funny name!

Mr. Face:

"So that I can see you. And not feel like i'm lost on some kind of empty wall-less floor." I Was apprehensive about the new people.

T.Mor:

"On Erf..." I tried to explain. "Does that help?"

Sarah

"Um...no," I answered. "I have no idea where Erf is."


Nike

"He uses echolocation," I told them.

"Oh," the brown-haired boy said. "...Anyway, my name's Peter."

"I'm Senet," the boy next to him said. I remembered Senet from earlier...the French one.
