Daughter of Darkness

Kale glanced down at her, as he held her close, rubbing her back. "Are you alright?" he aske softly.

Jack chuckled and kissed her again. "I'm wonderful."

Mirissa smiled and turned again, pulling out of his arms. "Good," She gave him one more quick kiss. "So, whats the plan for today."

Dani felt tears run down her cheeks as she listened to Colton's cries. She did that to people, and enjoyed it. She squeezed her eyes shut trying to tune out the sound. It was her fault he was getting hurt now. She shouldn't have told father that he's the one that finally changed the last bit of her mind. Then he wouldn't be hurting.

Artemis nodded and looked back up to him "I want see the flowers again" she whispered

Coral squeaked again and finally busted into the cell, falling at her sisters side "are you okay?"

Kale watched her and nodded. "Alright, we can do that." He glanced at Mirissa and Jack. "We're going to the green house, we'll be right back." He looked back at Artemis, and with his arm still around her gently, he walked her towards the back porch.

Jack looked down at her and shrugged. "I guess I could do some work outside or something."

Mirissa frowned for a moment, "Outside?" She gave him a kiss in hopes that his plans could change. "I would follow you so you would have to help me. I don't know this area yet."

Dani looked up at Coral, quickly swiping the tears from her cheeks. "Yeah, I'm fine. What are you doing in here Coral? Dad could be back at any moment."

Jack kissed her back and smiled at the sight of her frown and the sound of her voice. "We can do whatever you'd like." he chuckled.

Artemis stayed in his arms, closing her eyes tightly as they entered the sun. It's times like these she wished she was blind like mirissa. things would be so much easier then. she let him lead her. only peeking out between her lashes occasionally

Coral frowned "you're my sister. I love you" she slipped her the key from her back pocket. ".. you're making a stupid decision... he's gunna kill you" she croaked "but.. but I at least want you to have a chance. be careful" she gathered her into a hug, sobbing silently

Kale took her to the green house and opened the door, leading her inside. The plant was still on the floor from her dropping it.

Dani stared at the key for a moment her arms wrapping around Coral. "He'll know who did this Coral. I don't know what he'll do." Her eyes searched Coral's as she pulled back, wondering if her sister knew what this meant.

Mirissa thought for a moment, "Lets go outside, I need to learn the land anyways, just in case."

Artemis cracked open an eye and saw the plant on the ground. She frowned and dropped to her knees, cradling it "I..I kill it" she whispered

Coral grimaced "I know.. but you're worth it" she kissed her forehead and handed her, her blueberry drink "be careful?"

Kale smiled as he watched her and shook his head. "No, you didn't." He walked over to a shelf and got a new pot and brought it over and set it on the table, then went and got a cup of dirt from a white bag. He poured some dirt in the pot, then motioned for her to put the plant inside.

Jack nodded and led her out the front door. "How do you learn the land? Do you just walk?"

Dani nodded, "I will." She eyed the blueberry drink with distaste, but also afffection for her sister. "Thankyou. And Coral?" She asked as she stood and walked to the door of the cell. "Could, could you do something for me?"

Mirissa nodded, "My memory makes up for my lack of sight in a way. I memorize where things are, important things. They has a reason for making that special cell for me back in that prison, I used to break out alot. I knew every part of that building, even though the lights were always on and I couldn't see a thing." She carefully began walking forward.

Artemis looked at him in confusion, placing the plant in like he said

"what?" Coral asked, walking toward the door and glancing over, her small frame shaking slightly

Kale smiled and placed the dirt around the plant's roots and then watered it. "There, now it can live." He watched her with a small smile. "It wasn't dead, it was still alive. All you have to do is re-pot it."

Jack nodded. "Oh," he said as he followed her, making sure she didn't run into things.

Dani hesitated, knowing this was alot to ask. "Can you help the guard too? Its up to you. I just wanted to ask." She smiled shortly. "Goodbye sister." Then walked out of the cell.

Mirissa walked forward grateful for his help. "It will take a lot less time with you." She said softly with a smile. "Especially without the being yanked to a room to be punished for leaving my cell again." She had her eyes closed as she concentrated on memorizing the place.

Coral froze, watching her sister leave. The guard too? His screams still filled the air and she shivered, quickly setting off and out of the cell. Why the guard? Did Dani like him? Perhaps she should pay him a visit... once he was no longer.. indisposed

Artemis smiled "it's okay? I didn't hurt it?" she petted the leaves tenderly

Kale shook his head. "You didn't hurt it. He's a durable little guy. I've even dropped him once or twice."

Jack winced at the thought of her being punished, but kept quiet, helping her as best he could as they made their way around the yard.
