Artemis gasped "and what did he want? why is your face scratched up?"

"The gate. Of course." Mark said, his eyes still distant as he watched out the window.

Artemis grumbled "stupid gate"

Mark looked at her and gave a small smile then turned up the radio a little so the conversation about the gate and The Reaper couldn't continue. He raised a brow at the song and started singing along with it.

Artemis watched him, a small smile touching her lips. She slipped her hand into his and continued to watch him

Mark smiled slightly and looked over at her, giving her hand a small squeeze. He would have kissed her too had it not been for two things. One, he was driving. Two, she probably would have freaked out.

Artemis felt it in herself to sign along with him the next song, though she felt like an idiot. Still though, to those who knew her, they would say a piece of the old artemis began to shine through that day

Mark smiled at her then turned back to the road, loosing himself in memories again, trying to find how Jack had lived.

As the day neared an end, artemis began to doze, her hand still entwined in his

((The Reaper. Remember, he use to be Mark's mentor, but Mark said he was killed when Mark failed at his task to gaurd the gate))

Mark sighed, having to find a hotel. He wasn't going to last much longer. He found a fancy one, one where there was less likely to be any disturbances, and got out, taking his bag and guitar with him. Then went over to her door and opened it carefully so she didn't fall out. "Come on, Love. We're gonna stop for the night."

(ahhh, gottacha, that just confused me for a sec)
Artemis mumbled some groggy, incoherent sentence and rubbed her eyes, leaning on him as she slide out

Mark closed her door and locked the Bugatti, his arm around her as he led her inside and paid for a room. He then took her upstairs and set her down on one bed, pushing the other till it was right up against the wall, and set his bag under it. He set his guitar off to the side and picked her up, moving her to the bed by the wall and tucked her in.

Artemis was passed out, her hands gripping his shirt tightly, refusing to let go

Mark looked at her and sighed. He had been planning on taking a shower...he frowned and laid down next to her, wrapping an arm around her.

Artemis pulled snuggled in closer, a soft, quiet snore sounding from the back of her throat

Mark watched her and chuckled, shaking his head. This girl sure was somethin. He brushed the hair from her face and sighed, realizing how close he was getting to her. How attached he was. It wasn't really a good thing, but he wasn't going to give it up.

The bad dreams came as per usual, but she didn't cry out as much, Mark's presence soothing her even in her sleep

Mark woke with every cry she made, every restless movement, and did his best to sooth her.

the morning came and artemis didn't want to open her eyes, afraid that all of this had been a dream and mark and never come back and whisked her away after all

Mark had fallen asleep, even after his silent protests towards his body. But the night had stayed relatively quiet except for Artemis's occasional bad dream. He was still asleep when the sun rose.

Artemis stiffened, shocked to find herself in marks arms. Gingerly peeling him off of her, she ducked under and scrambled back, the nightmares still ruling her mindset. She remained quiet though, letting him sleep

(i'm just doing my homework and then heading off to bed -.- so like 20 more min)

Mark stirred as he felt her be removed from his arms. He opened his eyes and jumped, falling off the bed when her realized she wasn't there, hitting his head on the table as he fell. He groaned, but jumped up and looked around, his head spinning slightly. His eyes finally located her and his body filled with relief. "Don't scare me like that." He said as he sat on the edge of the other bed.

"I'm sorry" she whispered, slightly bemused "you okay?"

"ya, I'm fine. Just a slight concussion." Mark rubbed his head and laid back on the bed with a groan. He thought about moving to take a shower, but all of the sudden he was to tired to move. Besides, the room was still spinning.
