Descend: A Fairie character chat

Hey, I was bored(sort of) and decided to do this. First off, I'm trying to write a book with fairies in it, but I keep running out of ideas, so I thought I could get more ideas by posting this thread here.
I don't have much of a plot idea, but what I have so far is this: A girl named Gabrielle is sent off to a boarding school after something happened between her and her ex-friend(who was a totaly jerk to her). Anyway, she meets a guy who's a fairie, but he doesn't want to tell her...yet. (I have no name or anything on him, so if someone else wants to make him, go ahead.) Eventually, they'll both fall in love, cause that's just what happens. My brain is empty on ideas for this, so that's why I have this up here.
Of course, once I get stuff written out I must ask ahead of time for permission to use characters.
There are some other fairies at the boarding school btw, if you wanted to make a fairie or just a human. There can be some drama with relationships between characters also.
The fairies can have powers such as the elemental kind and a few mind ones, if you chose to. The most powers they can have is 2, so things don't seem complicated with who can do what.

Gabrielle looked at the large building in front of her. It looked more like a castle than a boarding school. The sun shone behind it, causing it's rays to shine out in lighter lines. The clouds cast dim shadows over the grounds as they slowly floated across the blue sky.
If things at home didn't go so badly, she probably would enjoy being here. Not even the flowers lightened her sad mood.
I guess I'd better figure out where I'm staying, she thought before she picked up her suitcase and walked up the stairs to the front door.
The woman at the office barely looked at Gabrielle as she pulled out the right papers for her. "You're room number is written on the schedule. Don't miss any of the classes," she warned.
Gabrielle studied the paper in her hand as she made her way through the hallways. Her eyes stopped at one of the classes.
"Mythology and Old Folklore?" she questioned.
"Weird name for a class," she mumbled to herself.

Kaid walked into school, a smile on his face. Life was good! He had passed all of his recent exams, and was at the top of all his classes. Walking to his locker, he picked up his books for the next class, excited for what it would bring. Unlike a lot of students, Kaid loved school. He excelled in all his classes, which made up for his social life, which was nonexistent.

Gabrielle quickly put her suitcase in her room. There wasn't going to be any time yet to unpack. Her first class started in about ten minutes, and luckily all of her school books sat on her desk.
At least I don't have to worry about where to get those.
She grabbed a text book and went to her class, avoiding bumping into any of the other students also walking in the hallways along with her.
At last, she finally reached her class.
Gabrielle found an empty desk in the far back corner and began to make her way there.

Kaid usually sat at the front of the class, but seeing a new girl decided to sit in the empty seat beside her. "Hey, I'm Kaid. Welcome to our school." He smiled and leaned back in his chair, waiting for a response.

Gabrielle glanced at the guy next to her, a little surprised that he talked to her. She didn't want to be rude, and then she gave a small smile.
"Gabrielle," she replied. "Thanks. I just got here a few minutes ago."

Josie: I rushed into class, nearly dropping all my books on the desk. I ended up sitting behind the new girl.

Gabrielle noticed the girl sitting behind her. Again, she didn't want to seem rude, so she gave the girl a small smile like she did with Kaid.

Josie: I smiled back. Before she could turn around, I spoke. "I'm Josie. You're new, right? What's your name?"

Gabrielle nodded. "Yeah, I'm Gabrielle. Nice to meet you, Josie."
She couldn't help but like the girl. She seemed really nice. Almost like her friend before she...
Gabrielle shook off the thought before it had a chance to make her emotional like it usually did.

Josie: This girl seemed way too shy. "So, Gabrielle. Where did you transfer from?"

"I transfered from a pretty small school in Florida. No one's really heard of it," Gabrielle answered, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

Josie: Oh. Interesting. "Florida? Really. Why did you come here? It's certainly not as sunny as Florida."

"Yeah, my parents thought that getting away from home for a bit would be nice." She avoided talking about what had happened between her and her ex-friend.

Josie: "Cool." I looked around her and up to the front. "When is the teacher gonna get here? Ugh!"

Kaid watched the two girls converse. He didn't want to interrupt but he couldn't wait to get another chance to talk to Gabrielle. She was pretty, and seemed really nice.

Gabrielle noticed a butterfly come in through the window and fly up to her. She watched the beautiful thing as it came to rest on her hand. She smiled. Butterflies always made her feel happy.

Josie: I let Gabrielle's feelings flood through me. She was incredibly happy at seeing the butterfly. I wonder...

Gabrielle continued to watch the butterfly as it curiously crossed the desk before fluttering its wings again. She marveled at the colors of purple and black on the creature's small wings.
How can something so tiny be so important to me? she wondered.
A teacher then entered the room and the butterfly swiftly flew back out of the room. Gabrielle frowned slightly once the butterfly was out of sight.

Kaid had just been watching her, not saying anything. She had been captivated by the butterfly and it made him smile. The teacher came into class, and it began, but Kaid could only focus on the beautiful girls sitting next to him.
