Livin the dream

Anson managed to beat the rush of people to his dorm. He showered, putting on a different shirt and then went to Starbucks with his laptop, just waiting for something to do or someone to talk to. He occasionally texted, but it wasn't a meaningful conversation.

Stasia: After the rush, I walked to the nearest Starbucks. Anson was there. Of course. I walked up behind his chair. "So...How's the impact of indie film and culture on cinema going?"

Anson didn't look up from the screen that held the first eight pages of his paper. "Fine," he said brusquely. He may not have found her as annoying out of class, but he was still on a fairly short fuse. He didn't really have time to be annoyed. Okay, he lied. He had days, but whatever. His order was called and he got up, going to get it while his phone buzzed on the table.

Stasia: I looked at his phone...it was tempting. I just saw the number that was trying to reach Anson and memorized it. I picked up his phone, and it still buzzing, handed it to him. "You're buzzing."

Anson came back with his coffee and answered the text quickly. It was from his ex. They were still good friends and he knew they both still had feelings for each other, but it was a distance thing and he didn't want to have a long distance relationship.

Stasia: "I'm not going to ask who it's from." I said, hoping he would offer up the information himself.

"Good," Anson said, taking his seat and taking a long drink from his coffee. His eyes flicked to the girl lazily and then back to his laptop screen. he knew work was going to be inevitable with her around, so he closed out of his paper.

Stasia: "Do you want me to leave? I didn't come here following you, and I can go somewhere else." I felt bad now.

"You can leave if you want," Anson said. "I probably won't talk much unless you prod," he continued, "but either way, I don't care." He wasn't going to be rude or anything if she decided to stay, but if she left, he wouldn't mind either.

Stasia: I walked away and went to go get my drink (one of the non-coffee options) and sat at a table in the corner. I took out my earbuds, iPod, and sketchbook, and started drawing the cafe. This was a particularly good Starbucks, with nice plush seats and everything.

((Anson, you're being difficult! XD))

((He's not going to go after her... He's a loner like that. And he hasn't found anything in common with her.))

Anson's eyes flicked up for a moment to study her from where she sat and then back to his computer screen, where he had reopened his paper and stared at it with great disinterest. He sighed and opened up an internet ta, doing a few random things.

Stasia: About 20 minutes later, I was about half done. Maybe this was easier to draw than I thought. Before long, the next thing to draw was Anson, and after studying him for a minute, I set to drawing.

Anson saw her look at him for a moment and then she did something in her book. He wondered if she was doing something that pertained to him, but then her pursed his lips, deciiding that she probably wasn't.

Stasia: I spent extra time on Anson, wanting to get him just right. I kept glancing up at him, then down to draw the next section of his face.

After the fourth time that she looked back up at Anson, he knew it had to do with him. He stayed there, to, his eyes on her, his face serious. What was she doing. Considering the strokes of her pencil, he assumed drawing. Was she drawing him?

Stasia: I looked at Anson again, and saw that he was staring at me. "Could you go back to the position you were in before please?" There was only one table between us, and it was empty, so he shouldn't have any problems hearing me.

Anson raised an eyebrow and didn't move for a moment, then, with an annoyed sigh, he went back to the position before. He straightened his laptop screen and then started to type quietly. She was drawing him and he couldn't help but find it creepy. Not vaguely creepy, but really creepy.

Stasia: I finished drawing him and moved on to the rest of the scene. After a few minutes, I remembered Anson. "Hey, you can do whatever now. You're done."

Anson rolled his eyes a little and kept typing, not moving from where he was sitting. He took another drink from his coffee and rested his head against his fist, closing his eyes for a moment and sighing. He got another text and pushed his phone away, tired.

Stasia: Half an hour later, I was done with the sketch and my drink. I walked past Anson and got another one before going towards the door to leave, sketchbook in hand.

Anson grabbed his things, a new latte, and then started out of the cafe, glad for the cool fall air. It was late summer, but it was getting colder and he couldn't be more thankful. He loved the fall. it was the time of year when he was in the best mood. He smiled as he walked and realized he hadn't smiled all day.

Stasia: I walked next door. It was a bookstore, and they had the best script selection I had ever seen. I was looking for some new reading.

Anson headed up to the cmmon room of his dorm building, hanging out with a few of his guy friends and actually seeming to relax. There were girls in the dorm building, but they never seemed to hang around the common room.

((I thought you said he didn't live on campus?))
Stasia: After paying, I headed back to my dorm. I was trying to get in a sorority, but as a newbie freshman, it was hard work.
To get to my dorm room, I had to pass through the common room. Walking through, I checked out the guys. Hot, hot, hot-
ANSON. Of all people, HE was sitting next to the route I needed to take.
I was at the other end of the dorm room now and almost into the hallway. I stopped and turned around. "Okay, I promise I'm not stalking you. Swear. I'll just, um, get out of your hair now." And with that, I turned around and tripped, almost going sprawling on the floor. Catching myself, I hurried out, embarrassed.

(Oh, well I changed my mind)

Anson was in a considerably better mood as she walked through. He laughed as she talked to him, some of the guys throwing him suspicious looks. They all thought she was hot. As she left the room, she tripped and he stood, hurrying after her. He casually slipped his arm around her waist as if helping her stand. "So listen, I really should apologize about earlier. I had a rought start this morning and it made me kind of upset," he said, letting her head him around. "Maybe i could make it up to you somehow?" He asked. Distantly, he heard howls from the common room.
