Kaleo chuckled and shook his head. "Nah, we just met bro. She can't like me that fast," he glanced around for Kelie who had moved to his other side.
"Iko...did you do that math homework?" She asked, biting her lip. Kaleo raised a brow. For some reason he felt a little shocked at his niece knowing the boy, but then again, the two did go to the same school.

Iko knew that she could. Well, she had with a white boy, but that was a while ago and he was different. Iko looked at Kellie and grinned, nodding. "Did you?" He asked. They had reached the sand of the beach pretty quickly and he wondered when his sister would be back around.

Kelie shook her head. "No!" Her accent was just as thick as Kaleo's, but seemed to have a small chime to it that his didn't. His, of course, was deep and rich. "I thought it was impossible!"

Kaleo chuckled as he watched the two while they walked around. "Where do you think we should park our stuff?" he asked, almost sure that neither of them would hear him.

Nala finally changed, and walked down the street in her swim suit toward the beach. Uncommon, maybe a little, but she didn't have a whole lot of shame, so this didn't stop her, especially when she got onto the beach. Her hips seemed to sway just a tiny bit more and her strides were a little more confident.

Iko plopped down in the warm sand and motioned for Kelie to sit by him. "Maybe I can help you before school tomorrow," he suggested with a small smile. Oh, what a gentleman.

Kelie eyed him for a moment then sat down beside him. "Ok..you help me and then we go play in the water?" She asked as she slipped her backpack off.
Kaleo watched them with a large grin and slipped off his shirt, already wearing his swim trunks. He had been planning on taking Kelie to the beach at some point that day anyway. He glanced around and saw Nala walking towards them. At the sight of her he seemed to freeze, his eyes going a little wider than usual, his mouth hanging open slightly. She looked gorgeous.

Nala grinned at Kaleo turned and saw her. instinctively, her hand shot up and she waved at him, continuing on her path to them. She saw Kelie and Iko on the sand, doing what looked like homework and she sped up a little. His short was off. Kaleo's shirt was off. So... So... Maori. So different than the white washed beach. She grinned a bit wider when she got over to him. "Hey.

"Okay, deal," Iko said, looking at her math homework. Instantly, he started to help her, anxious to go into the clear water. The sun was beating down on them and he couldn't wait to swim.

Kelie listened intently, fidgeting slightly. She had ADHD which made it hard for her to concentrate. She glanced around, her eyes continually leaving the page, wanting to be doing something besides homework.

Kaleo looked at her and grinned, waving back. "Oi, it's a beach flower if I ever saw one," he said to her with a slight chuckle. He glanced down at Kelie and Iko then at Nala. "Well, should we leave them, or wait?"

Nala blushed a little and grinned. "I saw we leave them," she said, chuckling quietly. After all, it looked like Iko might actually be doing something productive out of school and she couldn't help but be the proud big sister. he didn't ever do a whole lot, so she was thrilled.

Iko started pointing things out and then stopped when he eyes left the page. "Maybe if we get half way done, we can go play in the water, then, later we can work a little more," he suggested, raising a brow. Neither of them were having very much fun.

Kelie looked at him and blushed but gave a grateful nod. "Sorry," she muttered and looked back at the page with a deep breath. She mentally told herself to focus and tried to concentrate on what he was saying.

Kaleo shrugged. "Alright then," he grinned, mischief coming to his eyes. "Race you," he then dashed off towards the water.

Nala took off as fast as her legs could take here. Maori's were powerful warriors, graceful. She was fast, keeping up with his strides. She had speed to make up with every strong stride he took, propelling forward. The water was close now and it looked like it might actually be a tie. She just needed that extra boost.

Iko helped try to keep her attention just until the reached the middle question. He turned to her, looking at her as thoughtfully as a fourth year could and then smiled. "You ready?" He asked.

Kaleo glanced at her and grinned, again the mischief gleaming in his eye. He dropped behind her a few strides before bursting forward, sweeping her up into his arms and plunging into the ocean with her, falling on his back into the water.

Kelie nodded with a grin and stood, stripping off her lava-lava and her shirt, tossing them in the bag. She had been wearing her swimsuit underneath of course, so it wasn't really to bad. She looked at him expectantly and waited as patiently as she could manage.

Nala shrieked as Kaleo pulled her into the water. As soon as she came up, though, she was laughing, keeping an arm around him to stay afloat. Sure, she could tread water, but why do that when he was right there. It gave her a good excuse to stay close.

Iko pulled off his shirt and started toward the water, grinning. He had forgot to grab his swim trunks and his shorts wee close enough. "C'mon Kelie," he said, starting into a run into he was splashing in the water.

Kelie chased after him, giggling happily as she splashed into the cold water. The sun beat down on her, making for the perfect combination of hot and cold. This was so much better than doing homework.

Kaleo bobbed up above the water chuckling as he kept his arm around her waist. He glanced around for Kelie, and almost visibly relaxed when he saw her playing with Iko. He then looked back at Nala. "Wet looks good on you," he winked.

"Well thank you," Nala grinned, acutely aware of his arm around her. "I have to admit, it doesn't look that bad on you, either." The water during this time of the year was nearly perfect. It just made everything seem a little more balanced in her hectic world. Hectic. Quickly, she looked over for Iko and saw him playing and splashing with Kelie and then her grin widened. She wondered if they were friends at school, too.

Kaleo chuckled and adjusted her in his arms, then tossed her into the air and away from him, letting her land in the water. He waited till she popped up before he began to run, laughing happily.

Kelie tripped and fell with a giggle as the cool water made the hot sun not seem so bad. She glanced down at the sand below her and her eyes got wide as she stared at the shells in amazement. "wow.."

Nala popped up from underneath the water, then started swimming after Kaleo, catching him and climbing onto her back, giggling. She leaned down so she was whispering in his ear. "So funny, aren't you?" She teased, putting her arms over his shoulders.

Iko dipped under the water, pulling up a brilliant pink shell and offered it to Kelie with a wide smile. "Do you want a different one?" He asked, cocking his head just a little.

Kelie looked at it with wide eyes and sat back on her butt, taking it from him gently. "Thanks! It's pretty!" She stared at it and bit her lip. "Do you think there are other colors?"

Kaleo chuckled and reached around and began to tickle her. "I know I'm funny," he said teasingly.

Nala could help but let out peals of delighted laughter as he tickled her. "Okay, okay, you're funny," she said between laughing, while she tried to catch her breath. He was definitely cooler than any of her previous boyfriends... And a lot more ripped.

Iko nodded and dipped under again, pulling a few more shells up. One was blue, with silver swirls and he stuck it in his pocket. There was one more blue one, though, but it just didn't look as nice. "Like these?"

Kelie's eyes lit up and she nodded. "I'm going to turn them into a necklace!" She started to pick out the ones she liked, grinning happily.

Kaleo chuckled and smiled, as he stood with her on his back. His arms wrapped around her legs and he took a deep breath. "Well, I think we can decide on something right now." His voice was very matter of fact. "I need your number in my phone so we can do stuff more often, ya?"

"Absolutely," Nala said, her eyes shining. She was glad that she had picked her brother up, especially today or Kaleo might have been gone in a sing Maori sigh, which would have been a shame. She rested her chin o his shoulder, letting him tow her around, which she glanced at Iko and Kelie.

Iko carefully debated what to do with the blue shell in his pocket. It was sooo cool, but... Well. He reached into his pocket and offered her the shell. After all, she was special and the shell was special. "Put this one in the middle, alright?"

Kelie looked at the shell and then back at him and gave a small nod. "Ok, I will," she smiled at him and took it carefully, holding it like it was the most precious thing in the world. "Thank you..." She gathered all the shells she needed, then ran them back to her back pack and searched for something to put them in so they wouldn't break.

Kaleo chuckled and sighed. "I guess it's time we get the other two home..." he said with a slight frown. He walked out of the water, carrying her on his back still. "Kelie's mum will kill me if I don't have her home soon."

Nala nodded, sliding of his back when they got onto the sand, wringing out her hair when she was steady. From her purse, she grabbed a pen and a small slip of paper, writing her name and number with a small heart on the bottom, she didn't give it to him, though. Iko was quickly at her side when she called him. "Let's go," she said, her lips still holding a slight grin.

Kelie stood and looked at Iko and bit her lip. "Thanks for helping me..." She grinned and decided she was going to give the necklace to him when it was finished.

Kaleo grabbed his shirt and tossed it over his shoulder and looked down at Nala and Iko. "Thanks for suggesting the beach, it was fun." He held out his hand to Iko. "It was good to meet you bro. Keep an eye on your sister, beat off all the guys on the way home."

Iko grinned and shrugged. "It was no problem," she said. "I'll be sure to, dude," Iko said, looking up at Kaleo, grinning. Nala paused for a second and then handed him the little slip with her number, grinning. "Make sure you call me sometime," she said, nodding, then heading off toward her car with a slightly tired looking Iko.

Kaleo glanced at the paper in grinned. He then looked down at Kelie and lifted her up onto his shoulders, grabbing her backpack and clothes before starting the long walk home. He whistled happily, knowing that even if Sariah got mad and killed him, it would be totally worth it.
