Johnny: I sighed, frustrated and confused. Did you have the option to be a guinea pig for them? I would just search her mind, but she could obviously tell when i was doing so, so i hjust had to ask. Maybe she was getting annoyed. But i didnt care.

Serena: No, they experimented on me at birth, then recaptured me and sent me out here. Do you really think I would choose this?

Johnny: I wouldnt know. Maybe you actually agree with them I thought coldly. How was i supposed to know whethere or not she agreed to it? For all i knew she could just be saying that, so i would trust her or whatever. But no, her thougts were true...

Serena: You know I don't, now that you've searched my thoughts.

johnny: I laughed quietly. "True. But I'm just being careful." Oops, I thought when I realized I said that outloud. Urgh. I was getting mixed up...

(What the heck just happened? Two people dropped when I wasn't here? They could have waited, and my character would've talked with them. )

*pats heart sadly* it hurts to lose someone with knowing....

Johnny: No, no, it 's no trouble. See, I never talked to anyone telepathically. It's not exactly normal in California... I shrugged.

Serena: Telepathy isn't normal anyplace. You think talking telepathically is fun, do you? Then again, you don't use it under the circumstances I have to.

Serena:I have these powers, but as long as I have them, the scientists can track my every move. With a flick of a switch.

Johnny: But you'll know when? Right? I asked, staring at her. Was she reading my mind? I thought of unicorns and rainbows and butterflies in a happy, surreal scene.

Serena: I let out a small laugh, the first noise I had made outside of my head. I wasn't reading your mind until something slipped through about unicorns. Yes, I know when. Like earlier-that buzzing you heard? That was them checking in. The buzzing is the only warning I get. They don't realized that their machines set off the noise. If they ever did then I wouldn't know when they were listening in.

Johnny: My posture became rigid. How do you know they aren't listening now? Maybe they fixed it, maybe they have different machines?
