Maybrook Prep

Iliana: I walked into the cafeteria and took my new seat - the one not near Jude, with a sigh. I slumped down in the plastic chair and rubbed my eyes. "I'm so wiped today..." Probably from all the crying last night, over Jude. Who said we weren't even broken up. I was so confused now.

Jack: "Me too, and exams haven't even started yet. I think they're gonna start prepping us next week."

Derek: "Nerd talk..."

Jude: "You look tired..." I told her. "Maybe you should go to the nurse."

Nasim: I pursed my lips. Waitta patch things up Jude. 'You look tired.' That could so easily be taken as an insult!

Quinn: I sat at my usual table, the emptiness not bothering me at all, as usual. I had to enjoy every bit of how things were right now, before change knocked me out.

Lena: I hesitated by Quinn's table, like that other time. We were friends now though, so it was okay, right? I sat down at a chair across from him. "Are your friends here today?"

Iliana: "Do I? That's not good," I bit my lip with a pause, then looked up at Jude. This would seem really sketchy to everyone else, because they thought we were broken up, but oh well. "Walk me to the nurse?"

Jude: "Sure," I said, not too quickly, but a bit. I wanted to show her I hadn't broken up with her, just got mad.

Quinn: So lena wouldn't totally disrupt the usual routine. I mean, I talked to her so to have her sit with me wouldn't be a big deal. Maybe we'd study. "Friends? Yeah they're here. But they ditched me when Skylar left," I laughed bitterly. "They only befriended me to get to her."

Lena: "I meant your ghosts friends, don't you remember that conversation?" I said in an amused voice.

Iliana: I got up and we walked out of the cafeteria, me still biting my lip. Maybe it would bleed. This was going to be awkward - I had expected he'd say no, so I hadn't thought this through. "How'd you do on the science test?"

Jude: "A as usual," I say with a shrug and a bit of a smile. "You?"

Quinn: "Oh." I felt stupid. "Yeah they're here too. But Billy's gone today so you can sit there," I gestured to a random empty chair.

Iliana: "A+...as usual...how are your parents...?" That seemed like an odd question, but oh well. My exhausted brain couldn't muster creativity.

Lena: "Billy? Tell me about him. How did [i]he die? Drowned? Electric chair?" I said and set down my tray.

Quinn: I try to think of a clever story. "Nope. He got one of those huge gummy bears for Christmas and tried to eat it whole." I sigh tragically. "And that was the end of Billy."

Jude: Dang. She was obviously trying to make conversation, but I hadn't realized how awkward it would be. "Somewhat good more or less," I say non descriptly. (Word?)

Lena: I raised my eyebrows "That's a new one. I always wanted a giant gummy bear. Tara got one for Christmas one year but saved it, because she thought it was too cool to eat," I rolled my eyes.

Iliana: "Hm, well, bye," I slipped into the nurse's office, with one sad glance over my shoulder at Jude.

Jude: I waved weakly and walked back, angry with myself.

Quinn: "Ew," I said, scrunching my nose. "Didn't it get all moldy?"

Lena: "No, I think she kept it in the refrigerator. She probably ate it eventually, but she wouldn't share," I pouted.

Quinn: "I cant honestly blame her... Who would want to share a giant gummy bear?"

Lena: "True, I probably wouldn't. I like ice cream more than gummy bears, though. Ben & Jerry's...Yum."

Quinn: "Ugh. I hate ice cream," I say, wondering how anyone could like nearly solid smoothies.

Lena: "What?! How can anyone hate ice cream?" My eyes widened, honestly a little shocked. Ice cream was life. I ate it whenever things at home got too rough to handle, luckily I was anorexicly skinny from my ADHD medicine.

Quinn: I shrugged. "I just don't like it... I think I had some traumatizing childhood experience with it." I shrugged. I just didn't like how it was so cold. You couldn't even taste it because your tongue was far too frozen to taste anything.

Lena: "Traumatizing? Definition, please," I said pathetically, since I had the vocabulary of a spoon, as well as the attention span of one.

QUinn: "A horrifying event or state of mind."

Lena: "How could ice cream be traumatizing?" I shook my head.

Quinn: I shrug. "I really don't know. Maybe my brother shoved a spoonful up my nose or something and gave me the worst brain freeze in the world. I honestly dont know."

Lena: "Ew, that's not a pretty picture," I wrinkled my nose in disgust.

Quinn: I laugh. "Sorry if i ruined Ice cream for you."

Lena: "Not really, just lunch. NO, wait you didn't ruin that," I smiled and unwrapped my Sno-Ball (She has really awful eating habits).
