C. D. - character development

Victor: "Charmed." He reaches out with the hand that is not holding the gun and takes her hand gently. He kisses it politely. "I personally do not expect the Lost Boys to come into this house, as everyone seems to be running around outside."

"ARG...this is not good. Hey...Victor...what will the lostboys do i...if..they find her?" said Evan.

Penny: I blushed a little when he kissed my hand, but I was still secretly confused. "Lost Boys?" I asked, frowning.

Victor: "Hard to say. If she goes quietly, they'll try to drag her off to a holding cell. As they're out of their own time, they won't find one, so I can't be sure what they'll do after that, but it will give you several hours to find her. If it gets light before then, they might just let her go. If she struggles or runs, they'll shoot her. If she screams, they'll shoot her. If they catch her doing anything even vaguely illegal-looking, they'll shoot her." Victor gestures with the pistol, making people duck without realising what effect he's having.

Penny: I looked from Victor to the other boy, entirely confused. They weren't talking about me, right? No, I hadn't run away. But if not me, who had?

Victor: "Steam-powered killing machines made from condemned criminals. Armed with steam-guns and with searchlights for eyes." Victor tries to light his pipe without putting the gun down. he comes perilously close to igniting the powder charge in the pistol.

Penny: I jumped back. "Um...could you be a little more careful?" I asked as calmly as I could, but my heart was still threatening to jump out of my throat.

"Not good...not good!" said Evan, who was clearly passed panicked by now.

Victor: "Sorry? Oh." He appears to have just noticed the gun. "I don't have much experience with firearms."

Penny: "Same here," I said. "But...you almost shot something!"

Victor: "Oh, yes... I suppose I did. Oh well, it's all part of the learning experience, what?" He chuckles awkwardly and stops.

Penny: "Could you please put that away?"

Victor: He looks around for Lost Boys, then slips it back into his satchel. "Well, if you're sure..."

Penny: "You can pull it out if you need it, but for now, please put it away?"

((he just did))

A scream is heard from outside...

Penny: "Thanks," I said, but I looked up when I heard the scream.

Victor: "I realise now that putting it away might not have been the best decision." He draws the pistol again and runs through the shattered door, before turning to face the others. "Will you be attending?"

Penny: "What does that mean?" I asked, confused.

Victor: "Would you care to follow me out into the damp and windy streets to discover the source of that scream? Even as I say it I realise that it sounds somewhat less than sane."

Penny: What else could I do? I nodded and followed him.

((Victor's 'thing' generally consists of shooting and missing, then getting his backside handed to him. He's the thinker and observer, not the fighter.))
