C. D. - character development

"Why?" asked Evan.

"Ah, you don't need to know," replies Skipper. "...But I'll tell you anyway. It's the man I work for. Noronel Justick. He sees me like a daughter, but I don't see him like a father. See what I mean?"

"Ah...are you sure of this?" asked Evan.

(Replied to character chats are fun)

"Pretty certain. And I know his lover."

"Oh...that sucks," said Evan guietly.

"Yeah, it does and all."

"What do you do? To get by I mean..." said Evan.

"Interesting question. I do all sorts of things. I'm mainly a smuggler, but at the same time I work for the Noronel to infiltrate slave rings and drug cartels, steal valuable objects from various places, and generally work by stealth and deceit."

"Oh. Well I ment the other situation but interesting."

Skipper blushes green. "Oh, I just hide my feelings. I write soppy poetry then burn it."

"For that...you'll need Cassie," said Evan. "Cassie!"

"What?!" asked Cassie, who was walking over.

"Poetry."

"What about it?"

"Skipper writes it...then burns it."

"BURN IT?!" said Cassie, facing Skipper. "Why?!" she cried.

"So no one ever finds it," explains Skipper. "And to get rid of the feelings."

"Well unless you specifically state the person's name... your pretty good to go. Keep it. I used to throw it out but I found out it helps more."

"You? Throw it out?" said Evan.

"Yeah," said Cassie blushing.

"That would be a waste of talent," Evan said, making Cassie blush more.

"I suppose that might be a good idea."

"It is a good idea! I'd love to see some of your poems!" said Cassie.

"Hmm." Skipper glances around just in case there is a watcher of some sort. "Here," she whispers, pulling a piece of paper from a pouch on her belt and handing it to Cassie. "If you could it eat when you've finished reading that'd be favourite."

After reading it, Cassie looked up at Skipper. "This is fantastic!" she exclaimed. "Instead of eating it...can I keep it?"

Skipper groans and hides her head in her hands, effectively blocking it completely from sight. "Okay! Fine."

"Yay!" said Cassie cheerfully. "That way I'll have something to remember you by..."

"Aw, thanks!" says Skipper cheering up. "People don't often say that sort of thing to me."

"Really? You're super nice!" said Cassie, and Evan nodded his head in agreement.

"Aw, thanks guys!" Skipper blushes a brilliant emerald green. "You're awesome, both of you."

"Well it's true!" said Cassie.

Skipper frowns. "It's not always true," Skipper muses darkly.

"Hey I'm not always the nicest guy around either," Evan admited.
