Tara: "No, not really. You'll just blow me off again." I frowned.

Jace: "I'm sorry! Honestly. I didn't blow you off. She took my phone."

Tara: "Yeah, right." I rolled my eyes. "I didn't even see a gun."

Jace: "So you don't believe me. At all? Look, my wind shield's gone, I'm bleeding, and there's glass all over the car. Come back and I'll prove it to you."

Tara: "Why should I?"

Jace: "Because...because I really need you right now. Nothing happened between me and Gabriela. I swear."

Tara: Awwww he really needed me? I blushed slightly, and turned the car around. "Fine." I hung up, driving back over.

Jace: I stared at the hood of my car for a moment before slipping the phone back in my pocket. After a moment, I took it back out again and attempted to wipe the blood off with my shirt.

Tara: I arrived back, and sure enough the windshield was gone... I took a deep breath, then walked over to Jace's car again.

Jace: I look up. "Satisfied?" I open the door, cringing at the tinkling of glass. "I need some more clothes."

Tara: I bit down on my lip hard, and nodded slowly at his question. "Sorry I didn't believe you."

Jace: "S'okay. I would've thought the same thing." The glass crunched under my shoes and I hold up my hands, assessing the damage.

Tara: "I guess it would be stupid to ask if you're okay. Do you think you need to go to the hospital?" I brushed a shard of glass from his hair.

Jace: I smile. "No. I'm pretty sure I have tweezers in a cabinet somewhere. And...more clothes."

Tara: Speaking of which, that was why we were supposed to go to the mall - he needed more clothes. I continued to chew on my lip. "Are you going to explain things to me now?"

Jace: I take a deep breath. "Before I came here, I went to a school with Gabriela and Dom. It was sort of awkward, since they were the lovebirds and I felt like a third wheel. Me and Dom were still friends, though, so I stuck around. For some reason, when Dom left me alone with Gabriela, she...said she liked me. I rejected her and...she told Dom I tried to kiss her. Since he didn't do anything about it, not believing her, she broke up with him. He...committed suicide and I moved away. And somehow she found me again."

Tara: "Oh," I said softly, reaching for his hand. "I'm sorry, Jace."

Jace: "Yeah, and look where it got me."

Tara: "Do you think she'll come back again?"

Jace: "Pretty sure. She still thinks I killed Dom. She's just going to wait until I'm vulnerable, say in the shower or something, where all I have to defend myself is a showerhead." I smile at the thought.

Tara: I wrinkled my nose and dropped his hand. "You like that idea?"

Jace: "Yeah, I like the idea of her seeing me naked," I say sarcastically. "No, I was smiling because I was thinking about how hard a showerhead is."

Tara: I blushed. "Way to give me a weird visual." Jace naked...holding a showerhead...
