Valley of the Haunted

Cyan:
A Healer. Oh. "What's your name?" I ask.

(meanwhile, elsewhere)
Miscanthus:
I was getting tired of this perpetual gloom. And less and less haunted were coming lately. The ghosts were getting clever. I sighed and stared out the window of the hospital. Maybe it was time for me to leave the Valley.

Lena: Ghosts, I sensed them. One floated from a classroom. Bad idea, lurking where I could find it.

Ai
"Aimaterasu, but everyone says that's a mouth full. Ai is fine." I adjust in my chair and wonder what Gray is doing. Probably asleep. That lazy bum... "And yours?"

Gray
I pause and look up, Peter staring daggers at some kid. I stand. "You know your making yourself pretty conspicuous?" I chuckle and lean against a table.

Faylinn
"Lead the way, Mama." She pauses in front of me and i hear the clack. "Mama?"

My eyebrows furrow. "I'm not leaving you..."

Cyan:
"Cyan." I say, pointing to my clear blue, almost teal eyes.

Peter:
"He's a Haunted! They're evil."

"Yeah, well... His ghost isn't around and you aren't about to go all Keeper with innocents around." I laugh. 'Jeez, usually i'm the one who doesn't think things through!"

Ai
I nod. "Pretty." I play with a strand of my black hair. "Your ghost hasn't hurt you, right?"

Peter:
I sigh, and sit down. Then I hear the girls behind us, and I think: 'Oh no! I sat in front of one of them!

Cyan:
I smile. "Thanks." I say. Then I say "No, my ghost hasn't hurt me yet, but the others..."

Ai
I nod. "You can understand when i say i've seen the worst." I frown over at Peter but look back at her with the same smile. "I don't wish it to happen to others, you know. I'm willing to let you have your ghost, but come to me if she does anything, alright?"

Cyan:
I nod. "But..." I start, but then someone calls out to me and I turn to them. It's a woman. And she looks mean. "Tell me where it is? Where is it? Tell me!" I automatically cover my face with my arms as she reaches for me, but of course she can't touch me. I snatch a piece of paper and hastily draw a symbol on it, hold it up to her, and she fades. Anna taught it to me. It makes ghosts go away.

Ai
I study the symbol carefully. That's a Keeper technique. Ghosts are learning Keeper symbols? "Anything, Cyan. Just tell me and i'll help the best i can."

Cyan:
I nod. "Okay, thanks."


Hey, I've got to go.My mom wants me to do something, but I'll be back assoon as possible.

"Lead the way, Mama." She pauses in front of me and i hear the clacking. "Mama?"

My eyebrows furrow. "I'm not leaving you..."

Lena: "Ghost," I said in a monotone voice. "Why are you here?"

Faylinn
"Mama, can we go?"
She doesn't move.
