pppsssshhh...you kept saying about how he was going to sleep at noon and how it was a 'late night' for him when it was morning. context clues --> assumption that he's a night owl

"A glorious night!" I laugh and go over to the rusty balcony, looking out over the lowlands. "What's scheduled for tonight?"

XD hehe I know. But Quincy made it official.

"Improvisation," he said. In other words, nothing *yet*. He followed her out to the balcony and glanced at the bell tower's lanky silhouette.

Hehe...I love that word. Silhouette. It's just so...mysteriously pretty

I pause and study him, a smile spreading across my face. "Anything in particular?" I knew that look well enough. The cogs in his head were turning, fast and calculated. I loved that look. Something bad would always result from it.

Crooks' bloodshot eyes flitted to Quincy. "Do you know a lass that goed by Firefly Grimm, by chance?"

Quincy
"Not-a-clue," i say. "She new on the scene or an outsider? Something to do with Canary?"

Crooks nodded. "Did you know she's got wings?"

Quincy
"...An angel...?" I frown. "You finally lose it, Crooks? Tha's a tall tale to believe."

Hehe, good job, you're getting the accent down lol.

Crooks absentmindedly twirled another knife. "Doubt me, and you can go ask th' rest of th' pack. They saw it. More like a demon than an angel, I assure you, the feathers are like knives."

My look continued to be skeptical but i decide to humor him. "So, what's that to you?"

*creeeeeeeep*

"You're not quick to catch on, are you? Y'know what people would pay for something like that? A live angel."

Well stop creepin' and let's get the ball rolling! Oh wait...i think it's my post. Will do.

"Only a mile or two away," Annaleah said. "It's the tallest building in Luna. It's rather hard to miss. You could probably fit through the windows at the top."

Quincy
"Whose going to pay up, Crooks? I doubt the circus will believe us." I roll my eyes.

Sanae
Top means elevation as well as distance. I survey the futures quickly, do little calculations in my head a moment. "Alright, i believe i have a seven ninths chance of getting all of us there."

Crooks smirked. "You'd be surprised what sells in Luna," he said. "People will do anything for money and fame."

Annaleah cocked her head. "Not only does she have wings and sees the future, but she's a human calculator as well," she said, then smiled. "Seven Ninths. That's a better chance of survival than if I lead you all there on foot. I'm willing to take the risk."

Quincy
"What about....th' Warden...?" He gives me an incredulous look. "Wait a minute! Ya know he's always been trying to get lil' Luna on the map. And then we could bargain for something. Get our buds outta the slammer, or win a for life get out of jail free card."

Sanae
I smile. And it's a wonder how my race crumbled. "It's very precise though. And i'm still working out on how i'm going to carry three."

Meh, close enough :o

Crooks thought about that for a moment. "We would 'ave t' be careful. I doubt it would be that simple. No doubt 'e would try to take advantage of such close contact...but why not, for th' fun?"

"Do we all have to go at once?" Annaleah asked. "I could stay behind."

Sanae
I frown, look to the futures again. "I think i should take you first. Aloe can guard the boy and i'll come back for them while you're safe at the tower." I look to her. "Unless you disagree."

Annaleah's eyes strayed to the boy. She agreed...about certain things. The boy, she wasn't sure. Only very few went into the tower, fewer knew its secrets, and if word got out to Crooks...but what was she worrying about, if Cricket was...missing...anyhow? Nonetheless, she asked Sanae, "Can we trust him?"
