"You will not take from me the only person in three years who has cared about me." I finished. And with that, I turned on my heels and walked back to my room, locking the door behind me.

She doesn't get it, plain and simple. We were treated like an object at 51, no different then a bomb. No one cared what we were put through there. Then at the Institute, they may have showed me true kindness but in the end it was all an act. They used me, went behind my back when they created the others to try and sell us away. Betrayal was a sting i would not readily forget.
I feel like a scolded child, so so childish. And yet there are these feelings that i should have never been able to feel, and they feel like how they look at each other. Cricket had called it love, but love was just a word. Nothing to back it up. What a four year old might understand when they heard quantum mechanics - absolutely nothing.
And yet she doesn't listen in the end. I had told her i have no intention to take him and i don't. I will not make another feel that sting of betrayal. And yet her last statement held an 'or else' for me, and i didn't take well to threats thanks to 51. But i would not. I would not.

Cricket opened his eyes just barely, taking in the conversation, wishing he knew how to speak french. One can learn a lot of things when nobody knows that they're listening, but French? That was just unfair. He tried to read their expressions but couldn't see much past his hair.
