The Summer that changed my life forever...

Dakota: I looked around, trying to find a fun-looking game. That racing one looked fun, but damn - someone had already taken it. I went to wait for them to get off, playing at the game next to the racing one, Jeopardy or something.

Brok: I was really enjoying the racing game, so I just stayed there for a while with my headphones plugged in, listening to my band's music.

Dakota: The guy didn't look like he was planning to stop anytime soon...I didn't want to play bad enough to ask him to move, though. And honestly, I wasn't that great with people. Not bad with them, but not the type of person that would just walk up and start a conversation with strangers. I found another game to play.

Brok: I eventually got bored of racing around, so I went to ice-hockey and played against a few people, wining and losing several games.

Dakota: Yes, the guy left the racing game! I played it a couple of times, then noticed some people over by the ice hockey. The line wasn't too long, I went and waited for a turn. By the time I got to the front, a guy wearing a baseball cap was my opponent. "Hey." I nodded in greeting, and slid a quarter into my side of the game.

Brok: I smiled at the girl but was careful to not look up too long. "Hey," I said and shot the puck over to her side, wondering if she was any good.

Dakota: I hadn't played in awhile, so I just barely hit the puck back over to him, narrowly missing him scoring in my goal.

(what's the thing you hit the puck with? OoO)

(Um, uh, I don't actually know...lol. *googles* it's called a mallett)

(OoO no one knows that!)

Brok: I slammed the mallett against the puck and sent it flying across to the other girl's side of the table really close to the goal.

Dakota: It made it in, dang. I hadn't expected to be good at this game, so oh well. "Nice," I said quietly, focusing on shoving the puck back over to his side.

Brok: I smiled. "Thanks. I'm not very good, though," I said as she served back and I deflected the shot.

Dakota: "Practice makes perfect," I shrugged, slamming back the puck.

Brok: The puck went through my goal this time, and I groaned. "I see what you mean," I said as I shot the puck back at her, determined to win now.

Dakota: I smiled as I scored. We were even now, though only one to one. I didn't respond to him, momentarily zoning out, but bounced back to reality as his puck made it into my goal. Well, darn. Make that: he was winning now, two to one. I served.

Brok: I managed to hit the puck back to her this time, and I looked up at her face. I noticed she had nice brown eyes, lit up by arcade lights, before glancing down at the table again.

Dakota: He made it in, so that was three to one. The game only went to five, cheapskate ice hockey-game-makers. I served again, hoping I could get at least one more point. Losing by four would be pathetic.

Brok: "You can do better than that," I teased as the puck came my way and I barely managed to hit it out of the way.

Dakota: I smiled slightly glancing up at him, but losing my focus. I refocused and hit the puck back just in time. Either we were /both/ really horrible at this game, or both really /good/, because no one had made a goal for a little now.

Brok: I accidentally aimed the wrong way, and the puck went in my goal. 3-2. "There's your game," I said, looking up to smile quickly and looking down again quickly to serve.

Dakota: "I don't count that, but sure." The game counted it, so I'd go along with it now. I slammed it back to him.

Brok: "Feisty much?" I joked, sending the puck back over to her side. Well, she was fun. I'd give her that.

Dakota: I blinked. Never been described /that/ way before. "You could say that." I slammed back the puck while he was semi-distracted and scored. I smirked. "It's a tie."

Brok: I sighed. Not a good time to get cocky. "Alright," I said, shooting the puck over to her side quickly.

Dakota: And...it went straight into my goal. Damn. I set down my mallett. "Good game."
