The Summer that changed my life forever...

Dakota: I smirked. "And I'm honestly not."

Brok: "What? That's not fair!" I complained.

Dakota: "Sucks for you," I singsonged.

Brok: "Meanie," I joked, but I was smiling anyway.

Dakota: "Meanie? How old are you, five?"

Brok: "I was once."

Dakota: I laughed. "I don't think you grew up."

Brok: "So? What's so fun about growing up?"

Dakota: "Hm. I don't know...I haven't grown up either, so I can't say." I grinned and tossed the frisbee back.

Brok: I laughed. "Exactly. There's no fun in it, so might as well not grow up."

Dakota: "Sounds like a plan to me."

Brok: "A plan? Nah. It's a lifestyle."

Dakota: I laughed. "Alright. Sounds like a lifestyle," I corrected.

Brok: I grinned. "That's the spirit."

Dakota: My phone rang and when I looked down to check it, the frisbee hit me in the head. "Ouchie, Brok," I mumbled, even though it probably wouldn't even leave a mark. Ugh, it was my dad. Why'd he have to ruin everything? At least I knew I wouldn't have to go home, he would forget that he'd texted me in a little bit after a few drinks.

Brok: "You okay?" I asked her. It looked like she was checking her phone. "Sorry!"

Dakota: "My head is fine," I said, instead of answering the question, because it'd feel like a lie. I picked up the frisbee and tossed it back to him, kind of only half here, though.

Brok: "Are you sure?" I asked. "Everything okay?"

Dakota: I didn't answer. "The plastic bag could also be a parachute," I said out of the blue. "Thought that's kind of like the balloon."

Brok: I raised an eyebrow. "Random," I said. "We could try it."

Dakota: "I'm a random person...kind of." Not really.

Brok: I shrugged. "Random people are fun people."

Dakota: "Yeah." My heart wasn't in the frisbee game anymore, and neither was my head.

Brok: She seemed distracted, so when the Frisbee came over to me, I caught it and walked over to her, wrapping my arms around her from behind. "You okay?"

Dakota: The fact that his arms were around me didn't really register. "Mmm..." I replied neutrally, looking down at my feet.
