CHARACTER CHAT!!!!

"You get used t' it." Finn said, shifting in his chains. It got a bit boring after a while, being known as 'that guy that hangs around the thief kid with the black hair'.

Peter
"The sad thing is that I'm too tired to shift," I remarked. "If I could jump right now, we'd both be out of here. Heck, I'm too tired to even use my wind powers." I paused. "Wind is my subtype, see. My main type is fire. I'm not as strong or adept with wind as I am with fire, but I can still use it to some degree. Senet's the wind specialist of the team, since that's his main. I'm the fire specialist."
Of course, Sarah can do whatever she wants...
She might even be out in the hallways right now, Sesria thought.
Now that you mention it, I started, why don't you fly around the building and see if you can spot anyone?
Sure.
She flapped her wings and took off, gliding through the door.
"Now hold on a moment," I thought out loud as something occurred to me. "I think I should still have... If I could just..." I sat up despite the exhaustion and started to wriggle my hands under me. It was a tight fit. I grunted, trying to flatten myself out enough to get by. "Ah!" Victory. "As long as those guys didn't do any extensive checking, I should still have my lockpicking tools in my boot." Hopeful, I reached inside my right boot. I grasped the thin metal tools and smiled. I pulled them out, then looked at my wrists with a frown. "This is gonna be awkward."
I started to struggle with the locks. This might take a while.

Marley
"So you're really good friends with him, aye? Where do you two come from?"

"Lowlands of Luna Nuova, city on th' sea and Hell's closest sibling I'm sure," Finn announced, and whistled something with a chuckle. "What 'bout you?"

Cricket cocked and eyebrow at him. "If you 'ave any luck, do me a favor and toss those 'ere? They took my picks long ago. 'Aven't 'ad a chance t' replace them." He paused. "Then again it might be easier t' get these chains off me first if you can, and then I can return th' favor."

Peter
"Yeah, that makes a lot more sense," I said. I walked--admittedly, stumbled is more like it--over to Cricket and knelt down behind him. "Give me a moment." I started to work on the locks. "Scout boots are specialized," I mentioned as I fiddled with the pins. "They've got special flaps on the inside to conceal useful stuff. Lockpicking tools in the right one, and a knife in the left. I lost my knife in the field, though. Ah well, they're easily replaced. Okay, just a few more here...and...got it." It's always a little satisfying, no matter how many times I've done it or will do it. "Here you go," I said, coming around the side and handing him the tools.

wow i'm gone 2 days and we've moved like 30 pages! wah happened?

Cricket rubbed his wrists and took the tools. He smiled as he set to work, expertly listening for the clicks and feeling around until the lock gave in a small moment later. Ah, it felt good to hold lockpicks again. They were the shining trophies of illegal splendor that made being a thief half fun. He handed them back after Peter was set free. "Ah, I've used boots like that b'fore. But after discovering how hard it is t' swim a getaway in 'em, I've kept t' th' belt." He patted his now-empty, light belt with its hidden compartments. "Some'ow I always lose a shoe when I most need it, too. Never sure how."

Were all captured again sparrows in the infirmary

"Ahaha, I hate swimming," I said as I put the tools back in my boot. "It's not that I'm bad at it or anything, but it's certainly difficult to set things on fire when you and your fuel sources are soaking wet." I leaned back against the wall, my hands behind my head. "See, that's the thing that bugs me in books and stuff with people who can control fire. They just shoot it out of their hands! It's not realistic at all. It totally breaks the fire triangle; you need a fuel source as well as oxygen and a spark, which they completely bypass. Not to mention that they just throw the law of conservation of energy and the first law of thermodynamics out the window. I mean, it would be convenient and all, but here in real life, we have to abide by physics."
I blew some of the hair out of my eyes. It was kind of funny...this kid, much like me, had a lot of hair hanging in his face.
Quit worrying about that shaggy mop of yours, Sesria spoke, interrupting my thoughts. I've found Sarah, but she's still out. I'm continuing my search, but this place is so frickin' huge. Even though I don't have to abide by physics, I'm having a hard time with it. It doesn't help that souls have difficulty seeing man-made objects... You humans and your man-made objects...
Funny, Sesria doesn't usually mention the species distinction. We're such a part of each other that we consider ourselves one entity.
Silence, human, Sesria thought, but there was a joking grin in her voice.

"Huh, never heard of that, sorry" I admit "And I'm from Oklahoma"

Cricket smirked as the guy went on about physics and books and such. Was this what actual school was like? Uncle had taught him a lot of things, except how to read english. He'd never read a book. "Aye, that's real upsetting, isn't it? Huh. It's a bit odd talking t' a person who doesn't like t' swim. But then, where I grew up swimming's about as common as walking. Some days I've spent more time in th' water than out."

Finn nodded. "I get that a lot. And Oklahoma. Huh, never been there." Wasn't that somewhere in the United States? Hm.

Marley
"It's great" I chuckled "some really interesting people. I miss it. Now, do you have any powers, or are you human?"

"Human as anything. And you 'ave powers?"

Marley
"Mindreader that can posses people" I said carefully

Finn blinked. "Ahh...that's interesting."

Marley
"Yeaa..." If only that was the half of it. "So, any ideas on how to get out of here?"

((I think it's interesting that Cricket thinks that Peter went to actual school, because after age eight, he didn't. He didn't even begin learning things again until he was ten. After that, he learned only what he needed in research centers/training facilities to be a Scout. He'll continue to be a soldier in the Organization for the rest of his life. Of course, "rest of his life" isn't saying much ))

"Huh. Me, I'd rather fly than swim. Where I grew up, flying's about as common as walking. Okay, that's not entirely true. Only for the past...what, nearly nine now?...years." I laughed softly at a memory. "I remeber the time Senet first tried to teach me how to fly. That was back in...huh, that must've been in the Abandoned City. Yeah, it definitely was. We were only just beginning to be able to understand each other. Anyway, those initial flight lessons were terrifying." I grinned at the thought. "Helpful in the end, though. Especially when we had to run from the bomber jets and the people in black trying the shoot the two little freaks with powers."
Yeah, I had a really messed-up childhood.

I raise an eyebrow, my expression amused as i float down on the other side of his bed. "That all? This may be your only time to have me all ears, mister. All your wants and desires and that all you want from me?" I smile.

"Actually...I want you to convince the director to find a way to seperate you and Ami. Do that, and Ill give you anthing you want." Maybe.
